Two Fantasy Football Tight End Sleepers in the 2024 NFL Draft

Jaheim Bell - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Mo Aneizi takes a look at two potential sleeper tight end prospects in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Fantasy managers should take notice of these two players to make a potential impact for the 2024 fantasy football season.

The 2024 NFL Draft is almost here! While we wait to see where some highly talented prospects will land in the pros, there is one position in this upcoming draft that isn’t quite as deep as years past. That position is tight end.

The obvious name is Georgia’s Brock Bowers, who ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. currently has listed as the No. 7 prospect on his big board. The two-time national champion is believed to be one of the best tight end prospects in recent memory, and will likely have an immediate role for whichever NFL team drafts him.

After Bowers, it's unclear when we will hear another TE have his name called in the draft. So, who are some potential sleeper prospects in the upcoming draft?

Ben Sinnott, Kansas State

2023 Stats: 49 Rec, 679 Yards, Six Touchdowns

Sinnott is arguably the most athletic TE in the 2024 class. He turned heads at the Combine with his 40.00” vertical jump (first), his 10’6” broad jump (first), a 6.82-second 3-cone drill (first), and lastly a 4.68-second 40-yard dash (seventh).

On top of his speed and athleticism, the Wildcat brings a ton of versatility to the table. This was showcased in his collegiate career playing a hybrid FB/TE role lining up out wide, in the slot, and in the backfield. On top of that, he served as a very effective blocker during his time in Manhattan.

Sinnott proved to have steady hands, with just two drops in his 2023 campaign. He also showed his ability to slip away from contact with 14 missed tackles forced, tied for the fourth most in college football last season.

With his solid route running, agility, and versatility, Sinnott makes for a really interesting prospect who could be a huge value add in the passing game for an NFL squad. Current mock drafts project him to be picked in Rounds 3-4, with some having him as high as Round 2.

Jaheim Bell, Florida State

2023 Stats: 39 Rec, 503 Yards, Two Touchdowns

While on the topic of athleticism, look no further than Florida State’s Jaheim Bell. The Seminole was an integral piece of the team’s high-flying offense this past season.

Bell checked a lot of boxes at the Combine, running a 4.61-second 40-yard dash (third), a 1.58 second 10-yard split (third), and a 35.00” vertical jump (fourth).

Bell is incredibly dynamic in the open field, with his high-end speed allowing him to open up the field for an offense. He averaged 9.2 yards after the catch in 2023, while also racking up 143 deep yards.

The main drawback for Bell is his size/blocking ability. At 6-foot-2 and 241 pounds, he is a little undersized by NFL standards. He struggled as a run blocker in college and likely can’t be called on to do so at the next level.

While he may end up playing in more of an ad-hoc WR role in the NFL, Bell’s high-end athleticism and playmaking ability make him a prospect worth keeping an eye on in this year’s draft. Current mock drafts project him to be picked in Rounds 5-6.
