What You Need To Know - Top 10 Running Back Rankings Including Alvin Kamara, Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, and more

DeVon Achane - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL DFS Picks, Injury News

The top ranked running back fantasy football scorers - are these RBs trade targets, risers, and sleepers from Week 13 of 2023? Kyle reacts to the best fantasy RB performances and how to best assess your squads for the rest of the 2023 fantasy season.

Week 13 was easily the most brutal of them all as we were faced with the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, and New York Giants all on a bye. A lot of fantasy managers were in a bind this week feeling like they were setting incomplete, patchwork lineups with the bye week plus all of the injuries we've seen this year.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara had himself another solid week and we finally saw the return of the uber-talented De'Von Achane down in Miami. 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey found himself in the top 10 yet again and you're probably sick and tired of me babbling every week about how he's the fantasy MVP of 2023. Rams RB Kyren Williams had another solid outing for the second week in a row since coming off of injured reserve.

We are nearing the end of the 2023 fantasy season and Week 14 is the last of the bye weeks with the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders finishing it off. Here are the top 10 RBs based on half-PPR fantasy scores in Week 13 (excluding Monday Night Football). If you need some real-time stats, bookmark our live fantasy scoreboard to your browser. You'll get live updates, top performances, and more -- because who doesn't want some nonstop live fantasy action?

Top 10 Running Backs Of The Week

Here are the top 10 running backs from Week 13 of the 2023 NFL season in half-PPR scoring:

Rank Player Team Points
1 Alvin Kamara NO 25.9
2 Derrick Henry TEN 24.5
3 De'Von Achane MIA 23.8
4 James Conner ARI 22.5
5 Chuba Hubbard CAR 22.4
6 Christian McCaffrey SF 20.8
7 Isiah Pacheco KC 19.8
8 Kyren Williams LAR 18.7
9 Rachaad White TB 18.1
10 Zach Charbonnet SEA 16.4

1. Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints

After finding themselves in a 21-0 hole early in the game, the Saints battled back to make it competitive and Kamara was heavily involved. He rushed 14 times for 51 yards and found the end zone twice on top of seeing eight targets to finish with six receptions for 58 yards. Kamara is averaging just 3.8 yards per carry on the ground, but he's been such a volume hog as a receiver out of the backfield that it's offset his less than efficient running this year. In Week 14, the Saints get a favorable matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Kamara remains a solid RB1 the rest of the way with the consistent volume he's seen as a receiver. Since Week 4, Kamara has just one game with under five targets. Sheesh.

2. Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

Just when we thought that King Henry was dropping off, he roared back to life on Sunday and delivered a monster performance with 21 carries for 102 yards and two TDs and finished with one reception for 18 yards. It was just the third time all season that Henry has gone over 100 yards on the ground, and he looked great in doing so.

Despite how disappointing the Titans offense has been this season, Henry has still provided elite fantasy production in stretches. The bad news? Henry is in the NFL's concussion protocol after getting hit in OT on Sunday, which puts his status on Monday Night Football for Week 14 against the Dolphins very much in doubt.

Disclaimer: According to a new report from the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: Derrick Henry is not in the concussion protocol, per Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, despite the reports circulating on Sunday evening (12/3/2023) that Henry was dealing with concussion-like symptoms.

3. De'Von Achane, Miami Dolphins

The talented rookie back returned to action on Sunday after four weeks on the IR and he didn't disappoint. After barely being used in Week 11, Achane sat out the Black Friday Game in Week 12, and was finally able to get going yesterday. He logged 17 rush attempts for 73 yards and two scores, but also saw four targets to finish with three receptions for 30 yards.

Between Achane and WR Tyreek Hill, the Miami offense arguably has two of the fastest players in the league. Veteran RB Raheem Mostert is still very much a threat to steal meaningful RB touches, but Achane has to be in your lineup every week since he can easily pop off for 40+ fantasy points at any given time.

4. James Conner, Arizona Cardinals

After a homecoming of sorts from both his college days and first four years in the NFL, Conner had a revenge game against his old team. He rushed 25 times for 105 yards and two TDs. It was an impressive performance from Conner, who has still looked good for fantasy this season when he hasn't been injured. With QB Kyler Murray back in action, Arizona's offense has been a lot better than expected. The bad news? Coming up, the Cardinals have a bye in Week 14 and then play the 49ers in Week 15 followed by the Eagles in Week 17. Yikes.

5. Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers

One of the lone bright spots in Carolina's offense this year, Hubbard appears to have overtaken veteran RB Miles Sanders, who was signed to a lucrative free-agent deal this offseason. The Panthers ended up losing 21-18 and now fall to 1-11 on the year. The Bucs feature a stout defensive front and Hubbard was able to get going with 25 carries for 104 yards and two TDs. He did not see a target in the game. With interim head coach Chris Tabor running things, the previous pecking order at RB for Carolina doesn't seem to exist. You likely still need to be cautious playing Hubbard going forward, but it was nice to see what he did yesterday if you've been rostering him.

6. Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

It's no secret that dating back to last season's NFC Championship Game, there's been some bad blood between the Eagles and 49ers and San Francisco came out extra motivated and dominated the contest, 42-19. CMC had another solid outing for fantasy, carrying the rock 17 times for 93 yards and one TD on top of seeing four targets to finish with three receptions for 40 yards. Coming up, the 49ers offense has great matchups in three of their next four games with the Seahawks in Week 14, the Cardinals in Week 15, and the Commanders in Week 17. McCaffrey has easily been the fantasy MVP this season.

7. Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs

I forget who said it, but someone on X said that Pacheco runs like he's mad at the ground, and it's true. While the Chiefs fell to the Packers 27-19, Pacheco was very productive in the game. He rushed 18 times for 110 yards and one TD while having three receptions for 13 yards. Kansas City seems to have changed their offensive identity around going from a vertical, deep threat passing team who couldn't play defense to a team who runs the ball, completes short passes, and plays defense. This has largely benefited Pacheco, but it remains to be seen if he will maintain this much of a workload if veteran RB Jerick McKinnon is able to return from injury soon.

8. Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams

One of the best stories of the 2023 season, Kyren Williams has completely taken over the Rams backfield after some questioned if he would even earn a roster spot before the year started. On Sunday against a tough Cleveland Browns defense, Kyren carried the ball 21 times for 88 yards and one TD while seeing five targets to finish with three receptions for 24 yards. After heading into their Week 10 bye at 3-6, the Rams have won three straight to even the score at 6-6 and climb back into the NFC playoff race. Williams has been awesome for fantasy this season, finishing as an RB8 or better in six of his eight games. That's impressive! Set and forget your lineups with Kyren in there.

9. Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Another player who has been quite a surprise in the fantasy landscape in 2023, many analysts (including yours truly) questioned if White could see a full workload. There's never been a doubt about his incredible receiving prowess, and he will likely have a long career in the NFL on that alone, but White has also shined as a runner this season. On Sunday in a win over the Carolina Panthers, White topped 100 scrimmage yards and finished with 20 carries for 84 yards and one TD on top of five targets for three receptions and 22 yards. Coming up, the Bucs play the Falcons in Week 14 and White is likely a must-start. It might not always be pretty, but he's getting the job done.

10. Zach Charbonnet, Seattle Seahawks

With their star RB in Kenneth Walker sidelined, Charbonnet impressed on Thursday Night Football in Week 13 against a good Dallas Cowboys defense. He is also making the case for the Seahawks to feature close to a split backfield once KWIII returns. In Week 13, Charbs had 19 carries for 60 yards and one TD, but had one reception for 39 yards. Seattle has been struggling of late and has fallen to 6-6 on the season, but it's inevitable that Charbonnet will see a heavier workload going forward. The only bad thing? Coming up, the Seahawks play the 49ers in Week 14 and the Eagles in Week 15. Brutal.

Looking Forward to the Rest of 2023

Week 14 won't be so bad as we are at the last of the bye weeks with only the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders out. How did your teams fare in Week 13? If you have any potential trade questions, as well as questions involving waivers or start/sit, be sure to follow us here at RotoBaller with up-to-date fantasy news and team reports.
