Curtis Samuel's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 11 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Curtis Samuel for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ PPR Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4/5
ANALYSIS: The Washington Commanders have been throwing a lot of passes lately. Quarterback Sam Howell has attempted at least 42 pass attempts in four consecutive games. That's led to three consecutive 300-yard games for the second-year player out of North Carolina. Last week, he finished with 312 passing yards.
That performance didn't trickle down to wide receiver Curtis Samuel though. Returning from a one-game absence due to a toe injury, Samuel was targeted six times, but he caught just two of those for six yards. That now marks three consecutive games with 25 or fewer receiving yards for Samuel.
The good news is that even with his struggles, Samuel is probably still ahead of Jahan Dotson in the pecking order, as Dotson failed to bring in either of his targets last week. Howell has been getting the running back and tight end positions involved in the passing game though, limiting the receiver upside.
Fantasy managers in 14-team leagues can still play Samuel this week and hope that the six-ish targets he'll see can turn into something, but his recent downward trend means that managers in 12-team leagues can feel secure with leaving Samuel on the bench until we see him get back on track.
