Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London was the eighth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. London had an impressive college career, totaling 160 receptions for 2,153 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in three years at USC. He led the team in all three categories in his final year in college.
The former Trojan had a solid rookie season. London was the WR35, averaging 8.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He had 72 receptions on 117 targets for 866 receiving yards and four touchdowns. More importantly, the rookie led the Falcons in all four categories despite inconsistent quarterback production.
Following a successful rookie year, fantasy players had high hopes for the former USC star in 2023. After a zero-catch performance in Week 1, London has played well.

Drake London Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Unfortunately, the second-year wide receiver suffered a groin injury in the team’s embarrassing 28-23 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. London had five receptions on seven targets for 55 receiving yards and eight fantasy points before leaving the game with the injury.
However, head coach Arthur Smith said the groin injury wasn’t as bad as the team initially thought. The Falcons will see how London feels during the week before determining his status for Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Drake London Fantasy Football Outlook
London has played well since his zero-catch performance in Week 1. The former USC star has 37 receptions on 57 targets for 438 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He leads the Falcons in all four categories for the second consecutive season.
Hopefully, the second-year wide receiver won’t miss Sunday’s game against the Vikings. It’s an appealing matchup for fantasy players. Minnesota had surrendered 32.6 fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the first seven weeks, the seventh-most in the NFL.
Furthermore, London’s absence would leave the team with few options at the wide receiver position. Mack Hollins, Van Jefferson, Scotty Miller, and KhaDarel Hodge have combined for one receiving touchdown this season. However, the Falcons have an elite talent at tight end in Kyle Pitts that they refuse to feature. Maybe that will change if the former USC star can’t play on Sunday.
Whether Desmond Ridder or Taylor Heinicke start at quarterback this week, they will be a more appealing streaming option with London on the field.
