DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/1/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on May 25, 2023. Mike's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

It was a light Thursday to begin with, but MLB had to chop it up a little more We have the four-game early slate covered. Now it's time for the nightcap. It lacks the star power of the early slate, but there's still some DFS goodness going on here.

This article contains my picks for the three-game main slate on Thursday, June 1, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:10 PM ET.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Framber Valdez, HOU vs. LAA ($9,800 DK, $11,200 FD)

Framber already dominated the Angels once this season, holding them to just one run in eight innings while striking out a dozen on May 9. His extensive history against the Angels is much the same.

We can deduce from the Statcast that the Angels have been a bit lucky against Framber since the expected average and slugging are lower than the actual. It also shows that the strikeout rate is sustainable. He has a high ceiling and his price on DraftKings is lower than it should be. After all, he put up 42.2 DraftKings points in that May 9 start.

Hunter Greene, CIN at BOS ($7,100 DK, $9,200 FD)

Greene still isn't super consistent, but the strikeouts are. He has punched out 80 batters in just 56 innings this season. He may give up some runs, but those high strikeout totals are going to make sure that Greene still gets you some decent points. The high strikeout potential gives Greene a massive ceiling and a very affordable price, especially on DK. He's a lock for SP2 on that site and a strong GPP play on FD.

Others to consider: Tanner Bibee ($7,300 DK, $9,000 FD) at MIN

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Spencer Steer - 1B(DK)/3B(FD), CIN at BOS ($3,700 DK, $3,200 FD)

Steer remained hot with his second homer in three games last night in Fenway. He is hitting a blistering .419 over the last ten games with three homers, 11 RBI, and 11 runs scored. On top of that, he has feasted on lefties in his career. Steer is hitting .297 with a .541 SLG in his career against lefties with four of his ten career homers in just 74 at-bats. Ride the hot hand. This is not the Chris Sale you're used to.

Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs. LAA ($5,200 DK, $3,900 FD)

Altuve has hit the ground running in 2023. Over his first nine games, he is hitting .324 with a pair of homers, six RBI, 11 runs scored, and six walks. That's a lot of nice point totals for DFS! He has already homered off of Reid Detmers once in seven career at-bats. This is all about the hot bats on a three-game slate.

Royce Lewis - SS/3B, MIN vs. CLE ($2,900 DK, $2,800 FD)

I'm not enamored with the matchup – Bibee has looked good so far in his brief career – but I'm not going to ignore how well Lewis has played in his first two games off of the IL this year. Lewis was rested yesterday, but he is 3-for-9 with a double, a homer, four RBI, and a pair of runs scored in his first two games this season. It's worth this price to see if he stays hot.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Masataka Yoshida - OF, BOS vs. CIN ($5,500 DK, $3,600 FD)

Speaking of hot streaks, Yoshida has four consecutive multi-hit games. He has nine hits in 14 tries with three walks, two doubles, a homer, two RBI, and three runs scored in that stretch. I love the potential of Hunter Greene, but the dude isn't going to pitch a shutout. He'll give up a few runs and I would bet that when that happens, Yoshida will be involved.

Steven Kwan - OF, CLE at MIN ($3,800 DK, $2,900 FD)

Kwan has finally broken out of his mid-May swoon. He has nine hits in his last five games with three RBI, eight runs scored, and a steal. Pablo Lopez has really hit a wall in May, allowing at least four runs in four of his last seven starts. I want some pieces of Cleveland here and the leadoff man is the logical place to start...especially when he's hitting well at the moment.

Alex Kirilloff - 1B/OF(DK)/1B(FD), MIN vs. CLE ($3,100 DK, $2.900 FD)

I don't mean to go after Bibee, but man, the Twins are cheap and I need the savings. Kirilloff hasn't shown a bunch of power lately (his last homer was May 21), but he is getting on base a lot. Kirilloff has seven hits in the last five games and has also walked seven times. The counting stats will come when he gets on base that often.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Houston Astros vs. Reid Detmers

Much like the afternoon slate, I likely won't full stack here either. Sale hasn't given up more than three runs in his last four starts now. Even though I love the Reds' righties, the logical stack choice is Detmers. He still allows way too many baserunners even though his strikeouts are spiking. Someone is going to get him again soon, and Houston with all of their righties seems logical. Altuve and Alex Bregman are good starts. Yordan hits lefties well enough to throw in there. Top it off with a couple of cheap righties like Chas McCormick and Mauricio Dubon, and you have a pretty good stack against Detmers.

Also consider: Cleveland Guardians vs. Pablo Lopez
