ANALYSIS: As we head into Week 18 of the regular season, some fantasy managers are still battling it out. Though it's tough to imagine that someone in a championship-game environment might need a player such as Royce Freeman, fantasy managers can encounter some weird scenarios in the regular-season finale.
With Houston's Damien Pierce on the shelf and the Texans simply playing out the string at this point, Freeman tied for the team lead with seven carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 17, while also garnering five targets out of the backfield.
Freeman has now earned 41 total opportunities over Houston's last three games. He should remain a large part of the game plan in the 2022 finale against the lowly Indianapolis Colts.
Fantasy GMs that are dealing with players that are being rested or injuries can consider using a dart throw on Freeman in very deep leagues, though he'll be nothing more than a fringe FLEX option to close out the year.
