Is Dameon Pierce Healthy or Injured? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Dameon Pierce - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Is Dameon Pierce hurt or healthy? Is Dameon Pierce playing in Week 15 fantasy football or is he injured? Read the latest Week 15 fantasy football injury updates.

Houston Texans rookie running back Dameon Pierce has had a stellar 2022 debut season in the NFL. Handling the lead back duties for a terrible Houston team, Pierce has been reliable, productive, and has played every game. But then came Week 14.

During the fourth quarter of Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Cowboys, he sustained an ankle injury that forced him to leave the game. For the first time this season, there are questions about his availability.

That leaves fantasy managers wondering about their star running back. Is Pierce injured? Will he play in Week 15? Let's take a closer look.

Dameon Pierce Injury Updates for Fantasy Football

After leaving Sunday's heartbreaking loss, Pierce had his ankle taped and tried to return, but the Texans' coaching staff didn't think he would be able to continue and contribute. They kept him on the sidelines, he was labeled questionable, and never saw the field again.

With only three games remaining on the schedule and the fantasy playoffs starting this week, his managers were left with questions. On Tuesday morning, they were given some answers.

Dameon Pierce Injury News

Pierce was limping in the locker room after Sunday's game and wasn't made available to reporters. There is optimism that this isn't a long-term injury; however, the short-term prognosis doesn't look as positive.

The promising rookie RB underwent an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury. The results gave fantasy managers some insight into whether or not Pierce can contribute to their fantasy title dreams.

Without question, Pierce has been the best offensive player on the Texans in 2022, and it's not close. Wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins have been good when available, but as of late, they have had their own injury issues, each missing multiple games. Now it appears the Houston back will miss at least this week versus Kansas City.

Is Dameon Pierce Injured or Playing in Week 15 Fantasy Football?

Pierce rushed 22 times for 78 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game before he was forced to exit. On the season, he has been spectacular in his first campaign, totaling 861 rushing yards on 198 carries and adding four touchdowns, along with 30 receptions for 165 yards.

On a 1-11-1 team that's going nowhere, the Texans rookie has been the one major bright spot for fantasy fans.

As the fantasy playoffs begin, it appears managers of Pierce will have to find an alternate solution at running back for at least Week 15.  He has a mild high ankle sprain that will need some rest. If you were counting on him, hope it's only a one-week injury, and that he can return and help lead you to a championship.
