The Los Angeles Rams' 2021 season was undeniably magical. They were Super Bowl champions, and clearly the best team in the NFL.

Their attempt at repeating that magic has all but fallen by the wayside, and the 2022 campaign has been nothing short of a nightmare.

The team is in last place in the NFC West, their best offensive weapon Cooper Kupp is injured, and their quarterback Matthew Stafford is in concussion protocol.

Is Matthew Stafford A Fantasy Football QB1?

Even before the ankle injury to Kupp, arguably the league's best wide receiver, the Rams and Stafford were struggling.

Head coach Sean McVay's offense is one of the worst in the NFL, averaging a paltry 16.4 points per game. Kupp was the only weapon Stafford could trust and count on to produce, and now he is gone for a minimum of four weeks.

Prior to Stafford entering concussion protocol on November 8, the Rams' signal caller was having a forgettable year. These latest developments are the opposite of encouraging, and all signs point to a total collapse for Los Angeles.

Can I Drop Matthew Stafford in Fantasy Football?

Stafford has struggled all season in the Rams' offense and has yet to produce for fantasy owners. In six of eight games played, he has registered less than 15 fantasy points. But it's not all his fault.

It's hard to place all the blame on the quarterback in this situation, as the current weapons at his disposal are not very good or fully healthy. Kupp is hurt, Allen Robinson II has been mediocre at best, his running backs have yet to run for 70 yards in a game, and his tight end Tyler Higbee has been inconsistent.

The Rams are going nowhere, and neither is Stafford.

Should I Start Matthew Stafford in Week 11 if He is Healthy?

Let's put it this way. Stafford has 93 fantasy points in eight games this season. Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields has scored 108 fantasy points over the last three weeks. Your honor, I rest my case.

Don't get me wrong, Fields is having a phenomenal stretch in which he is putting up ridiculous fantasy numbers. But Stafford is doing the opposite.

There aren't any quarterbacks of Fields' caliber currently available in fantasy football leagues, but there are certainly better options on the waiver wire than Stafford. Stream one for Week 11 and also for the rest of the season.
