DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/2/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Corey Seager - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on August 2nd 2022. Mark Kieffer's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

It's August 2nd, we are closing in on the trade deadline today and we have had quite a bit of movement among players. Make sure before lineup lock that the players you have are confirmed in the lineups! It stinks to put someone in, and find out they were taken out of the lineup and traded and you missed it!

This article has daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 8/2/2022, Main Slate at 7:05 pm Eastern Time. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options, and value plays. The main slate is 14 games on DraftKings and 13 on FanDuel. Game 2 of the Rockies-Padres doubleheader is not on FanDuel.

Today's MLB Weather Outlook

Everything looks clear at the moment tonight!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Corbin Burnes- P, MIL @ PIT ($10,100 DK, $11,300 FD)

Burnes is my top pick for GPP lineups if you can afford a spend-up option tonight. He has a 2.73 SIERA, a 32.8% strikeout rate, and is facing a bad Pittsburgh team. In cash games, I do not think you have to spend this high up.

Cristian Javier- P, HOU vs. BOS ($8,700 DK, $9,700 FD)

Javier has a 3.18 SIERA and a 33.6% strikeout rate this season -- better than Corbin Burnes. Yes, he is facing Boston who are better than Pittsburgh, but this Boston lineup isn't scaring anybody right now.

Spencer Strider- P, ATL vs. PHI ($8,300 DK, $8,300 FD)

Strider is another good tournament option if you can't afford Burnes. Strider has a 37.2% strikeout rate, higher than the other pitchers listed. He also has a 2.59 SIERA. In four of his last six starts, he has gone six innings putting the quality start on FanDuel in play also.

Lucas Giolito- P, CWS vs. KC ($6,800 DK, $7,800 FD)

It's hard for me to fade Giolito at this price and against this team. He has a 5.14 ERA but a 3.75 xFIP and SIERA. His strikeout rate is a solid 25.8%. The Royals are not a good offense. He is almost a lock for me at SP2 on DraftKings and in tournament lineups on FanDuel where I can't quite afford Strider, I'd consider him too.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jose Miranda- 3B, MIN vs. Matt Manning ($3,800 DK, $2,700 FD)

This is Matt Manning's first MLB start since April. Between the majors and minors, he has only thrown 30.1 innings. I like the Twins tonight and Miranda is a good value at third base.

Corey Seager- SS, TEX vs. Jordan Lyles ($5,000 DK, $3,500 FD)

Jordan Lyles has been bad on the road with a 6.12 ERA and .378 wOBA against. This is being played in Texas, which is a pitcher's park, but taking a stab at Seager might be worth it. In general this is either a spend up or punt position tonight. Spend up for a guy you believe in or punt as far down as you can go to someone that is in the lineup.

Kolten Wong- 2B, MIL vs. Bryse Wilson ($3,900 DK, $2,900 FD)

Kolten Wong is a good all-around player that can score fantasy points by getting on base multiple times, stealing bases, or hitting home runs. Bryse Wilson has a 6.31 ERA and a 4.52 xFIP and is a good pitcher to target tonight in DFS.

Ryan Mountcastle- 1B, BAL vs. Spencer Howard  ($2,900 DK, $3,000 FD)

My mantra with first base is to find me someone cheap that has home run upside going against a bad pitcher. Mountcastle has a .183 ISO and Howard has a 4.69 xFIP and is allowing 2.97 HR/9.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tyler O'Neill- OF, STL vs. Keegan Thompson ($4,100 DK, $3,100 FD)

Tyler O'Neill needs to get going. Thompson has a 4.18 xFIP and is an average pitcher. O'Neill went 2-2 yesterday and was caught stealing. The game before that he got a steal and scored a run. I am encouraged by seeing him running after coming back with some cramping issues.

Jesse Winker- OF, SEA vs. Jameson Taillon ($3,200 DK, $2,400 FD)

Normally I wouldn't say to target Taillon. But Winke bats left-handed and the wind is blowing out in New York.

Ramon Laureano- OF, OAK vs. Noah Syndergaard ($3,800 DK, $3,000 FD)

Laureano is not great but is OK at the plate. He has a .310 OBP, but a .180 ISO, 10 steals, and a 110 wRC+. Steals on Noah Syndergaard are a thing. If he gets on base, he could pick up at least one steal if not more.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are a few stacks I am really liking today:

  • San Diego Padres (DK only)- It will depend on what the lineup is but Urena has the highest SIERA on the slate (5.42) along with a 0.6 K-BB%.
  • Detroit Tigers -  Chris Archer has a 4.04 ERA but a 5.15 SIERA. I don't like any of the Tigers stand alone but I do like them as a sneaky stack tonight.
  • Chicago White Sox-  Brad Keller has a 4.62 SIERA; it's a good ballpark to hit in.
  • Minnesota Twins - Matt Manning was a hyped prospect but I think Minnesota can get to him.
  • New York Mets - They should be pretty popular but may not be due to price, especially on DK.
  • Milwaukee Brewers -Bryse Wilson is also very bad. Milwaukee should be more popular but since they will play in PNC park they may go somewhat overlooked.
