DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/29/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on June 29th, 2022. Juan Carlos Blanco's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to another edition of the FREE DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks. As customary, we have an all-day ledger on tap Wednesday, and although DraftKings does not have a full-day slate, FanDuel does. Consequently, today's article will feature picks on both sites for games throughout the day, as even on DK, the suggestions will prove viable for someone playing one of the site's split slates.

Just as in last Wednesday's article, I liked more pitchers than usual on today's slate, leading to four suggestions overall at the position. There's also a good amount of targetable arms taking the hill, so putting together an array of bats that there's plenty of reason to be optimistic about was a fairly straightforward process as well.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 6/29/2022 that includes a FanDuel main slate locking at 12:10 pm ET. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shohei Ohtani -P, LAA vs CWS ($9,100 DK, $10,500 FD)

Ohtani comes into Wednesday's start with back-to-back blankings of the Mariners and Royals, a span during which he's allowed just five hits and generated a jaw-dropping a 19:3 K:BB over 14 innings. Ohtani hasn't faced the White Sox yet this season, but none of the current Chicago bats that he's previously gone up against have gotten so much as a single off him in a modest sample of 13 career encounters. There's also plenty of legitimacy in Ohtani's 2.90 ERA and 1.01 WHIP, as he also sports a .224 xBA, .280 xwOBA, 2.83 xERA, and career-high 33.0 percent strikeout rate. Furthermore, Ohtani has been at his best at home, where he carries a 2.45 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 11.5 K/9 across 36.2 innings.

Jameson Taillon - P, NYY vs. OAK ($9,100 DK, $9,200 FD)

The Athletics have been a better offense of late and more productive on the road overall, but Taillon is nevertheless in a very favorable spot Wednesday. The Yankees' right-hander is facing a squad that went into Tuesday's action with only a .226 average, .280 wOBA, and -8.8 wRAA against right-handed pitching on the road in the last month. Taillon took his only loss of the season way back on April 11, going 8-0 with a 3.16 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 0.9 HR/9 since that point while also lowering his barrel rate allowed from 2021's career-high 8.2 percent to 6.1 percent. Current Oakland bats haven't enjoyed any appreciable success against Taillon, either, posting a collective .124/.148/.287 slash line across 29 career encounters.

Other options: Michael Kopech - P, CWS at LAA ($7,600 DK, $8,900 FD); Sandy Alcantara, MIA at STL ($10,000 DK, $11,000 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Luis Arraez - 1B, MIN at Cal Quantrill ($4,600 DK, $3,000 FD)

Arraez is in the midst of an outstanding season that sees him going into Wednesday's game with a .342/.423/.430 slash line. The hot-hitting infielder faces a right-hander he's had plenty of success against in the past in Quantrill, against whom he's posted a .308 average, including a pair of triples, over 14 career encounters. Arraez has also been an absolute terror against righties in general, touching them up for a .383 average, .959 OPS, and .421 wOBA, along with a 26.3 percent line-drive rate. Meanwhile, Quantrill has arguably been fortunate against right-handed hitters -- he's pitched to an elevated 4.71 xFIP in that split -- and he's also sporting a career-high .278 xBA, .350 xwOBA, 4.61 xERA (compared to a 3.76 ERA), and career-low 15.1 percent strikeout rate.

Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU at Taijuan Walker ($5,600 DK, $3,700 FD)

Altuve went into Tuesday night's action with a stellar .293/.384/.587 slash line with 12 extra-base hits and nine RBI over his previous 19 games, and he's also tormented Walker to the tune of a .379 average, 1.005 OPS, three doubles, a home run, and just as important, zero strikeouts across 31 career encounters. The infielder boasts a .830 OPS, .363 wOBA, .235 ISO, and 143 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers on the road as well, and while Walker has very good surface numbers overall, he may be due for some regression if his .267 xBA, .324 wOBA (compared to a .278 wOBA), and career-high 45.5 percent hard-hit rate allowed is any indication.

Javier Baez - SS, DET at Alex Wood ($5,400 DK, $2,900 FD)

Baez went into Tuesday night's action boasting a scorching .359/.390/.795 slash line with three doubles, a triple, and four homers across his last 10 games. That's much more of a representative sample of Baez's career body of work than the extensive struggles he'd been going through for most of the season prior to that stretch, but amidst the underachieving, the veteran shortstop has still been terrorizing left-handed pitching as usual. Baez has been especially lethal against southpaws on the road, where he boasts a .423 average, 1.154 OPS, and .491 wOBA, along with an astounding 34.8 percent line-drive rate. For his part, Wood has yielded a .302 average, .350 wOBA, and 1.57 WHIP to right-handed hitters, and he's been tagged by Baez for a .438 average with three doubles and two homers in 17 career encounters.

Eugenio Suarez - 3B, SEA vs. Austin Voth ($5,600 DK, $3,300 FD)

Suarez has a .329 wOBA, .202 ISO, and 121 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, and he went into Tuesday night's action enjoying his best month of the season at the plate with a .263 average, .791 OPS, and .349 wOBA across 115 June plate appearances. He draws an appealing matchup to open the game against Voth, who's been knocked around by right-handed hitters for a .356 average, .424 wOBA, 2.1 HR/9, and 6.28 FIP. Suarez has a .356 xwOBA as well, and Voth has surrendered .316, .375, and .381 averages on his three most-often-used pitches, the four-seam fastball, curveball, and cutter.

Other options: C.J. Cron, COL vs. Julio Urias ($4,800 DK, $4,100 FD); Bo Bichette - SS, TOR vs. Nick Pivetta ($4,900 DK, $3,300 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kole Calhoun - OF, TEX at Zack Greinke ($3,700 DK, $2,300 FD)

Calhoun has run a bit hot and cold this season, but his .244 average is actually his highest since 2017. Additionally, the veteran has also laced 21 of his 55 hits for extra bases, and he's tagged right-handers for a 27.3 percent line-drive rate and 41.8 percent hard-contact rate. It's also worth noting the lefty slugger has been squaring up on the ball more than at any time prior, as evidenced by a career-high 12.0 percent barrel rate, 42.8 percent sweet spot rate, .517 xSLG, and 49.4 percent hard-hit rate. Then, Greinke's collection of peripheral metrics strongly hints at imminent regression, as he sports a .311 xBA, .535 xSLG, .379 xwOBA, 41.4 percent hard-hit rate, and a 5.56 xERA. Additionally, he's had nothing but trouble with Calhoun, as the outfielder has punished him for a .546 average with a double and two home runs over 23 career encounters.

George Springer - OF, TOR vs. Nick Pivetta ($4,600 DK, $3,500 FD)

Springer heads into Wednesday's game with a .825 OPS, and he's facing a right-hander in Pivetta that sports a notable gulf between his .278 wOBA and .331 xwOBA. Springer is putting in his usual strong work in same-handed matchups as well, generating a .263 average, .358 wOBA, and .242 ISO against right-handed pitching. He's enjoyed success against Pivetta in the past, producing a .500 average in 16 career plate appearances. Springer also has a strong body of work against Pivetta's trademark four-seam fastball, as he's generating a .279 average and .398 wOBA versus the pitch while also lacing 18 of his 39 hits in that sample for extra bases.

Andrew Benintendi - OF, KC vs. Dane Dunning ($3,400 DK, $2,600 FD)

Benintendi makes for a dangerous matchup for Dunning, who's given up a .339 average and .406 wOBA to left-handed hitters on the road. Benintendi has tagged right-handed pitching for a .319 average and .357 wOBA, and he's sporting a career-low 14.0 percent strikeout rate. Benintendi has a .294 average and .368 OBP at home as well, and he's posted a .316 average and .409 OBP against Dunning's most often-thrown pitch, the sinker.

Other options: Franmil Reyes - OF, CLE vs. Dylan Bundy ($2,900 DK, $2,400 FD); Christopher Morel - OF, CHC vs. Hunter Greene ($3,600 DK, $2,900 FD)
