Week 14 Fantasy Football Running Back Outlooks

Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams hasn't been as efficient a runner in recent games, but he still has one of the biggest workloads among RBs. In Weeks 1-7, Williams recorded 111 carries for 592 yards (5.2 yards per tote ) and six touchdowns while adding 23 receptions (32 targets) for 85 yards and a touchdown as a receiver, ranking as the RB7 in PPR points per game (19.0). Over the past five games, the 25-year-old has still been solid, but not quite as dynamic, with 87 carries for 363 yards (4.2 YPC) and two touchdowns to go with eight receptions (10 targets) for 43 yards and a touchdown.

He still ranks as the RB20 with 13.3 PPR points per game in that span, which fantasy managers will take if that is considered his floor. Williams should be in line for a big workload again Thursday night versus the Detroit Lions in a game featuring the highest projected point total of the week. The Lions' defense has been stingy against the run, but Williams' body of work this year has made him matchup-proof.

Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III (glute) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice as they prepare to face the Atlanta Falcons. Walker has been on the injury report for the past few weeks with a "glute" injury, but it hasn't affected his game status or role in the Seahawks' offense. Walker has totaled 180 touches for 908 yards in 12 games, but has only added four touchdowns this season, which has generated the majority of the headlines in this backfield.

Walker and third-year back Zach Charbonnet have been an RB by committee this season, and while Walker has been far more efficient this season, Charbonnet has scored eight touches. Thursday and Friday's practice reports will be key, but Walker will continue to fight through injury and be the lead back for this Seahawks run game.

David Montgomery, Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery recorded 48 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in Week 13, breaking his three-game scoreless streak. However, Montgomery earned just eight carries, marking the third straight game in which he's failed to reach double-digit rush attempts. In Week 14, Montgomery will square off against a Dallas Cowboys defense that has been playing much better against the run in recent weeks. Over their last three games, the Cowboys have allowed an average of just 69 rushing yards per contest.

With the Lions leaning heavily on star running back Jahmyr Gibbs, Montgomery has played fewer than 39% of Detroit's offensive snaps in four of his last five games. As long as that workload split persists, Montgomery profiles as a touchdown-dependent flex option for fantasy managers.

Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (knee) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice session. Jacobs sat out the Week 12 victory over the Minnesota Vikings with a knee contusion, but he returned last week for the Thanksgiving Day win against the Detroit Lions.

It appears Jacobs is still dealing with lingering effects from his knee injury. He looked solid in Week 13, when he rushed for 83 yards on 17 attempts against Detroit. Jacobs being limited to begin the week is likely just the team being overly cautious. The 27-year-old should be viewed as a high-end RB1 for the upcoming matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 14.

Dylan Sampson, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Dylan Sampson (calf) was a non-participant during Wednesday's practice session. Sampson is currently considered day-to-day after suffering a calf injury during Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The rookie back has rushed for 46 yards on 11 carries over his last two games.

He did haul in a touchdown as a receiver over that span, but Sampson has mainly been a non-factor in fantasy football, with fellow rookie Quinshon Judkins seeing most of the backfield work. His absence in Week 14 would mean increased playing time for Jerome Ford and possibly Raheim Sanders. Judkins is the only fantasy-relevant back in Cleveland at the moment.

Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice ahead of their divisional clash against the Arizona Cardinals. Despite being limited on Wednesday, head coach Sean McVay expects Williams to be ready to play in Week 14. The Rams have featured a committee much more in 2025 than in previous years, and Williams' workload has been limited.

The fourth-year running back has eclipsed 15 carries in just one of his last nine games, and second-year back Blake Corum has been efficient this season. Williams faces a Cardinals run defense that has struggled in recent weeks and has allowed double-digit fantasy points to every starting running back they've faced this season. If Williams is good to go this week, he is a high-end RB2 in Week 14.

Woody Marks, Houston Texans

Houston Texans rookie running back Woody Marks (foot) will be fine, according to head coach DeMeco Ryans. Marks went out early in the first quarter but returned later in Week 13's win over the Indianapolis Colts and did not participate in Wednesday's practice. However, reassurance from their head coach is a good sign for Marks' availability for Week 14, when the Texans travel to Kansas City. The fourth-round pick has been a nice surprise for fantasy managers this season, totaling 674 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games.

It seems like Marks will be able to practice at some point this week and be ready for a showdown against one of the best run defenses in the NFL. Thursday's practice report will be one to watch in determining if Marks will be available this week.
