2025 Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort - F1 Fantasy Race Preview, Strategy, and Analysis

F1 RACE PREVIEW, FORMULA 1 STOCK GRAPHIC

Euan Leith's preview of the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix for F1 Fantasy includes weather updates, differentials for your squads, and predictions for qualifying and the race.

Happy Dutch Grand Prix, RotoBallers! We survived a long, long summer break, and F1 Fantasy is back in our lives. With 10 races left, it's time to focus on points over budget. However, one more week of patience could be off down the line. The decisions this weekend will have ramifications for the remainder of the calendar.

The deadline for the Dutch Grand Prix in F1 Fantasy is Saturday, August 30, at 9 a.m. EDT, when Qualifying starts. Also, check out the rest of our excellent DFS racing coverage to get you through every NASCAR and Formula 1 race.

2025 Rotoballer F1 Fantasy League Update

There was a massive shakeup in the RotoBaller F1 Fantasy league after the Hungarian Grand Prix as three of the top five fell out, including the leader, Roman Siryk. Now, Pau Roger has taken a three-point lead over Al Sayed Ali Jaafar and Stuart Allan!

ONE BIG PREDICTION

Neither Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, nor Lewis Hamilton finish inside the top five of Sunday's race.

Mid-Season Masters Mini League

As we head into the final 10 races of the 2025 F1 Fantasy season, the game has launched a one-off mini league for the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort.

If you want to enter this mini league and have a chance to win £2,000, you can find it on the front page of the F1 Fantasy game site. My recommendation would be to enter a team that still has its Limitless or Extra DRS chip available and build a lineup with that chip activated.

Everyone and their Grandma will likely go with triple McLaren (Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, Constructor), so it's the other four spots in your lineup that you'll have to be different with to win the grand prize.

A combination of Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, or George Russel should do the trick in the driver's category. Then, when it comes to constructors, you'll make your best pick from Ferrari, Mercedes, or Red Bull.

4A Lineup Discussion

The topic of 4A Lineups continues to dominate the F1 Fantasy thought process. When is the right time to move to this construction? Let's break it down.

4A Heavy

"I tried so hard and got so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter!" - Linkin Park -- Euan Leith

This is how I felt after Ollie Bearman's DNF in Hungary cost me the chance to get to the 4A Heavy lineup at the Dutch Grand Prix. Alas, I will have to wait until the Italian Grand Prix in Monza before I can (hopefully) get to this build.

It's still the gold star of lineups in F1 Fantasy. And due to the likely rises for Gabriel Bortoleto and Liam Lawson, it will also get you some handy budget-building options. If you can get to this option, I am open to taking a -10 this weekend.

4A Regular

Close to the 4A Heavy lineup, but you've got Mercedes as your second constructor instead of Ferrari. While the cooler temperatures may favor the Silver Arrows in Zandvoort, the red Italian team has consistency on its side.

Over the last five races, Ferrari averages 54.8 PPR (Points per Race) compared to Mercedes' 43.4 PPR. The Italian squad also has a high score of 70 and a low score of 39 in that stretch. That looks very stable in contrast to the British-based team, which has a high score of 87 and a low score of seven points.

My Team 1.0 & 2.0

These are the two lineups I'm picking between for the weekend at Zandvoort. I have three free transfers, but am looking to roll one into Monza to have another three next weekend. This allows me to reach the 4A Heavy lineup if budget-building goes as I would like.

I'm leaning toward My Team 2.0 as of this writing because I don't trust Carlos Sainz quite yet. The ultimate question for my squad is: Who do I bring out for Liam Lawson? It'll come down to a deadline decision between Nico Hulkenberg and Lance Stroll.

Lineup Rankings for the Dutch Grand Prix

Taking everything into account, this is how I would rank all four options in the table above ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix for F1 Fantasy.

  1. 4A Heavy
  2. My Team 2.0
  3. 4A Lite
  4. My Team 1.0

F1 Fantasy Drivers to Target and Avoid

Drivers rise and fall in price after every F1 race. So, which drivers should we target to gain budget, and which should we avoid to miss the dreaded price drops?

  • Oscar Piastri, McLaren
  • George Russell, Mercedes

Drivers to Avoid (A Tier, >$18.5m)

  • Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari

  • Alex Albon, Williams
  • Lance Stroll, Aston Martin
  • Nico Hulkenberg, Sauber
  • Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin
  • Carlos Sainz, Williams
  • Gabriel Bortoleto, Sauber
  • Liam Lawson, Racing Bulls

Drivers to Avoid (B Tier, <$18.5m)

  • Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull
  • Esteban Ocon, Haas
