Zamir White's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 17 (2023). Should you should start or sit Zamir White for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB2
ANALYSIS: Las Vegas Raiders RB Zamir White has stepped up in a big way in starting RB Josh Jacob’s absence. In Week 16, White ran the ball 22 times for 145 total yards in the team’s upset win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The game before that, he ran the ball 17 times for 69 yards and a touchdown in the team’s blowout win against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jacobs (quad) is now doubtful for the team’s Week 17 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, which would prompt White to get the start for the third week in a row.
If that is the case, White becomes a strong start in fantasy football once again. Indy has struggled mightly against running backs this season, allowing the third most fantasy points to the position. They’ve also allowed 15 rushing touchdowns to backs this season, the second-most only behind the Carolina Panthers.
In Jacobs’ absence, White has seen an average of 21 touches per game. The current league leader in running back opportunities is Rams’ RB Kyren Williams, who averages 21.6 touches per game. White enters an extremely favorable workhorse role if Jacobs is out once again in Week 18.
Fantasy managers should closely monitor the injury designation of Jacobs before starting White in Week 17. If Jacobs (quad) can’t go, the former Georgia Bulldog is a strong RB2 option in fantasy football this week.
