Yahoo Leagues: Best/Worst Fantasy Baseball Values and Cheap/Expensive ADPs

Brenton Doyle - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Joey's Yahoo league fantasy baseball sleepers, busts, targets and avoids for 2025 drafts. These Yahoo ADPs are cheaper or more expensive than other platforms.

Depending on what site your league is held in will matter in your fantasy baseball drafts. Every site has its own ADP and rankings heading into the draft season. That means a player going in the seventh round of Fantrax drafts might not be going in the seventh round of Yahoo drafts. This is something fantasy managers should be aware of.

In this article, we will review the best undervalued and overvalued picks currently in Yahoo drafts. The undervalued players are going later in Yahoo formats than on any other site, while the overvalued players are going earlier in Yahoo leagues than anywhere else.

So, which players are the best and worst picks in Yahoo leagues? Let's dive into the advantages and disadvantages of drafting on Yahoo.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Cheap Early Round Fantasy Baseball Picks on Yahoo

William Contreras (C, MIL) | RotoBaller Rank: 49

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
45 29 33 24 35 33.26

Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras is usually the first backstopper off the board in fantasy drafts. He hit .281 with 23 home runs, 37 doubles, 92 RBI, and nine stolen bases across 155 games last season. Those numbers give Contreras a clear advantage at the position in fantasy, and he should finish with similar numbers in 2025.

As a result, he is a cheap early round pick in Yahoo leagues. He is going one to two rounds later on Yahoo than on any other site. That is a massive advantage for anyone drafting on that site because Contreras should have another strong season at the plate. His xwOBA (.358), average exit velocity (92.8 mph), and hard-hit rate (49.5 percent) all ranked in the top 10 percent of the league in 2024.

Wyatt Langford (OF, TEX) | RotoBaller Rank: 48

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
59 42 48 41 51 48.26

At this point last year, Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford was a popular breakout candidate in his first major league season. He quickly rose up the minor league ranks in 2023 and had every opportunity to carry that into 2024 with the Rangers. Although Langford got off to a slow start last year, he ended his rookie campaign by hitting .300 with eight home runs, 20 RBI, and seven stolen bases over his final 26 games.

That strong September stretch is baked into Langford's ADP on several sites. However, Yahoo doesn't appear fond of the Rangers outfielder heading into Year 2. The 23-year-old is going one to two rounds earlier on several other platforms. Considering that Langford has already recovered from an oblique injury he suffered in the spring, he is a cheap pick in Yahoo leagues.

Brenton Doyle (OF, COL) | RotoBaller Rank: 65

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
86 67 74 71 72 74

Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle had a strong season in his sophomore campaign. He hit .260 at the plate with 23 home runs, 24 doubles, 72 RBI, and 30 stolen bases across 149 games. The 26-year-old also won his second straight Gold Glove Award in 2024. Those all-around numbers certainly make Doyle a nice pick in fantasy drafts this year.

If you happen to be drafting on Yahoo, he is an even better pick at his 86 ADP. He is going one to two rounds later on Yahoo than any other site and playing half of his games at the most hitter-friendly ballpark (Coors Field) could make him a great value pick at this point in drafts. Doyle's 37.4 percent launch angle sweet spot rate and 29.3 ft/sec sprint speed ranked extremely well last season as well.

Yainer Diaz (C, HOU) | RotoBaller Rank: 73

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
100 64 76 53 87 76

Houston Astros catcher Yainer Diaz is another backstopper on this list, and his ADP feels way too low in Yahoo leagues. Yahoo is the only platform that currently has Diaz ranked outside the top 90. When comparing that to what CBS has him ranked (64), that is a 36-pick difference for one of the top-hitting catchers in the game.

As a result, Diaz could be a steal at his 100 ADP on Yahoo. He hit .299 with 16 home runs, 29 doubles, 84 RBI, and two stolen bases across 148 games last season, and there's no reason why he can't have similar production at the plate in 2025. His expected batting (.299), hard-hit rate (47.5 percent), and expected slugging (.458) all ranked in the top half of the league last year.

Bryce Miller (SP, SEA) | RotoBaller Rank: 82

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
96 79 81 80 69 81

Seattle Mariners pitcher Bryce Miller is coming off his best season as a starter in the majors. He finished with a 2.94 ERA, a 0.976 WHIP, and 171 strikeouts across 180 1/3 innings pitched. But Yahoo doesn't appear to be high on him after his breakout campaign in 2024. Miller is going in the eighth or ninth round in Yahoo leagues and the fifth or sixth round on every other platform.

That means fantasy managers should be taking advantage of that discount in Yahoo leagues. Miller had an above-average walk rate (6.4 percent) last season and limited batters to a .200 batting average. While his strikeout rate could be higher (24.3 percent), it's hard to pass on a pitcher who most people are taking rounds earlier on other sites.

Hunter Greene (SP, CIN) | RotoBaller Rank: 92

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
111 88 92 97 71 91.76

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene is another right-hander Yahoo is lower on than most other sites. Despite finishing with a 2.75 ERA and a career-high 169 strikeouts in 2024, Yahoo is the only site that has him going outside the top 100 in drafts. His 111 ADP is 40 spots lower than where he is going in NFBC drafts (71).

That makes Greene an extremely cheap option if you are drafting on Yahoo. Even though injuries have been a problem for the Reds pitcher in his career, it's hard to ignore what he did last season. His expected batting average against (.188), expected ERA (3.03), and hard-hit rate (32.5) all ranked in the top 8 percent in 2024. So, expect the 25-year-old to have another strong season on the mound this year.

Expensive Early Round Fantasy Baseball Picks on Yahoo

Blake Snell (SP, LAD) | RotoBaller Rank: 35

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
39 49 47 50 49 47

Given what starter Blake Snell has been able to do on the mound in recent years, he isn't an expensive pick this early in drafts. Snell, though, is a more expensive selection on Yahoo than any other platform. He is going one full round earlier than sites like CBS, RTS, and NFBC. So, fantasy managers have to determine if spending an early third-round pick on him is worth it.

The left-hander has pitched more than 130 innings in a season just once since 2019, and he always seems to struggle early in the year. Snell has allowed 29 earned runs across 34 2/3 innings pitched (7.53 ERA) in March/April over the last two years. Therefore, his 39 ADP on Yahoo might be too high entering fantasy drafts.

Cody Bellinger (OF, NYY) | RotoBaller Rank: 91

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
78 84 94 102 112 94

New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger's ADP is all over the place entering fantasy drafts. Yahoo (78) and CBS (84) have him ranked the highest, while RTS (102) and NFBC (112) don't seem to have much faith in him this year. However, his average ADP (94) and RotoBaller's ranking (91) feels closer to his true fantasy value.

Bellinger hit .266 with 18 home runs, 23 doubles, 78 RBI, and nine stolen bases across 130 games with the Chicago Cubs last season. Now, he'll play half of his games at one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks at Yankee Stadium. The right field porch currently sits 314 feet away from home plate, which is important for the left-handed hitter. Still, his 78 ADP on Yahoo feels too rich.

Matt McLain (2B/SS, CIN) | RotoBaller Rank: 84

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
79 105 100 90 127 100.26

It is quite a shock to see Cincinnati Reds infielder Matt McLain going that high in Yahoo leagues this season. He missed the final month of his rookie campaign due to an oblique strain and the entire 2024 season due to a shoulder injury. That means fantasy managers haven't seen McLain play in a baseball game since August 27, 2023.

As a result, his 79 ADP on Yahoo makes him an expensive pick on that platform. Although he did hit .290 with 16 home runs, 23 doubles, 50 RBI, and 14 stolen bases in 89 games back during that 2023 season, injuries have affected him in his major league career so far. However, if you want him in Yahoo leagues, you will need to spend a top-80 pick on him as opposed to a top-100 pick in Fantrax leagues.

Royce Lewis (3B, MIN) | RotoBaller Rank: 115

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
75 125 105 116 104 104.76

Minnesota Twins third baseman Royce Lewis is one of the best power hitters in the game. The problem, though, has been his inability to stay healthy. He tore his ACL in both 2021 and 2022 before dealing with other injuries in each of the past two seasons. That has resulted in Lewis playing in just 152 major league games since 2022.

Despite that, Yahoo is still high on the Twins third baseman entering the season. Lewis is going three to four rounds earlier on Yahoo than any other platform. That certainly makes him an expensive/risky pick, considering he hit .233 at the plate, 16 home runs, 16 doubles, and 47 RBI across 82 games last year.

Alex Bregman (3B, BOS) | RotoBaller Rank: 106

ADP Comparison
Yahoo CBS FANTRAX RTS NFBC AVG
92 109 109 128 107 109

Third baseman Alex Bregman finally signed with the Boston Red Sox in the middle of February, and his ADP has adjusted a bit since then. However, Yahoo continues to have the highest ADP for him entering the season. Bregman's 92 ADP on Yahoo is one to two rounds earlier than where he is going on CBS, Fantrax, and NFBC.

Therefore, he is considered a more expensive pick in Yahoo leagues. Still, Bregman could be worth the extra-round selection in Yahoo leagues. He has been a consistent 25-home run hitter and will now play 82 games at one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks in the majors. According to Baseball Savant, Fenway Park was the second-best hitters park in 2024.
