Will Jordan Love play in Week 1? Andrew Ball breaks down the latest Jordan Love injury fantasy football outlook and injury update ahead of the 2025 season.
Who needs a healthy hand when you play quarterback in the NFL?
Well, a non-throwing hand, at least. That's the injury Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is managing as the regular season rapidly approaches. The fantasy success of not only Love, but the rest of his Packers teammates, rides on his left hand.
Will Jordan Love play in Week 1, and what is his fantasy football outlook this fall? Let's dive in.

Will Jordan Love Play In Week 1?
Rest easy, Packers fans (and fantasy managers who drafted Love). The surgery on Love's left hand was minor in nature and shouldn't keep him off the football field when Green Bay hosts division-rival Detroit. The Packers franchise quarterback only missed about a week of practice before returning to the field. He did, however, sit out of the preseason game, with backup Malik Willis getting the starting nod.
I asked Packers QB Jordan Love if he will be 100% full-go for Week 1?
"We'll be good..We''re rolling for week 1 ..."

Love and head coach Matt LeFleur have stated all along that the former first-round pick won't miss any regular-season action with the injury. He may pick up limited tags on the injury report leading up to Week 1, and Green Bay may scheme its offense around protecting his left hand a little more, but it will otherwise be all systems go for Love.
Jordan Love 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
Jordan Love is ranked outside the top 12 quarterbacks in RotoBaller's preseason rankings, but has as good a chance as any of the QB2s to move up into the top group. It's something we've already seen before.
Love threw for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns and rushed 50 times for 247 yards and four scores in his first full season as a starter (2023). That was good enough for a QB5 finish (QB6 in points per game). Injuries derailed a follow-up campaign filled with high expectations and a QB1 draft cost.
A Week 1 knee sprain and a Week 8 groin ailment kept Love in the pocket, withholding valuable rushing fantasy points. To protect their quarterback, Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay coaching staff called a run play at the third-highest rate. It's hard to score fantasy points when pass attempts are limited and you can't scramble.
Jordan Love could be such a steal this season. He was a Top 8 QB per game in 2023. Suffered 2 injuries in 2024 but was 5th in ypa and 6th in TD rate.
The Packers need to throw more and he needs to cut the INT rate. But Love is QB18 in ADP and could easily be a Top 12 guy

Love reportedly wants to return to his running ways in 2025, and the Packers will throw the football more often than they did last year. Add in the first-round NFL Draft investment in wide receiver Matthew Golden, and Love is a sleeper who could return dividends.
