Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 9:
Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
Across six games so far in 2026, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson has recorded 28 catches for 335 yards and four touchdowns on 40 targets. While the 27-year-old remains one of the NFL's most talented wide receivers, he's been hurt by the continued struggles of the Minnesota passing game. Jefferson has yet to record 100 receiving yards in a game, and he's been held to fewer than five receptions in three out of six contests.
With quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring) sidelined by a hamstring injury, the Vikings will turn back to QB Carson Wentz in Week 9 against the Buffalo Bills. Wentz may actually provide a lift for Jefferson, as Jefferson's best game of the season so far came in Week 1 with Wentz under center.
Still, Minnesota's pass game remains hard for fantasy managers to trust until the team starts getting more consistent quarterback play. Jefferson remains a must-start wide receiver, but he may not have the elite production upside that he's brought for most of his career.
Marvin Harrison Jr., Houston Texans
Houston wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will look to start producing a bit more for his new team after the team had its bye in Week 8. Since being traded to the Texans, Harrison has eight targets, but just four catches for 40 yards. His lone catch in Week 7 against the Giants was a touchdown, so that's maybe another reason why his fantasy value is rising a bit. Harrison logged just 12 offensive snaps in Week 6, then played 13 snaps in Week 7.
It's fair to assume his playing time and role could improve now that he's been around the team for several weeks. Harrison is still only WR66 in our RotoBaller Week 9 projections. He has a pretty average fantasy matchup coming against the Chargers, but until he produces more on the field, he's just a deep-league option.
Emanuel Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson went from rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7 to not playing a single offensive snap in Monday's 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears. Wilson appeared exclusively on special teams for seven snaps as Zach Charbonnet (knee) made his season debut and Jadarian Price (chest) returned from injured reserve.
Price led Seattle's backfield with 30 offensive snaps (48%) and 10 carries, while Charbonnet played 23 snaps (37%) and handled six rushing attempts. George Holani also remained involved, logging 11 offensive snaps. Wilson had accumulated 403 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns while helping fill the backfield vacancies, but the return of Seattle's preferred options has pushed him out of the offensive rotation.
His fantasy value now depends largely on injuries creating another opportunity, making him difficult to justify holding outside deeper leagues heading into Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams received 24 carries in Sunday's 33-30 overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals but managed just 56 rushing yards, a sharp reversal from his 155-yard performance against Philadelphia in Week 7.
He averaged only 2.3 yards per attempt, with no run longer than six yards, as Dallas struggled to establish its ground game. Williams also missed out on a first-quarter scoring opportunity when he fumbled near the goal line and tight end James Mitchell recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchdown.
He was not charged with a lost fumble, but his lone reception went for just one yard on two targets, leaving him with 6.7 PPR fantasy points. Williams had scored at least once in six of his previous seven games, making Sunday's touchdown-free performance particularly disappointing. His workload remains encouraging heading into Week 9 against Indianapolis, especially with Tyler Goodson managing just 14 yards on seven carries.
Kevin Coleman Jr., Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. had his best box score of the season in Week 8, catching all three targets for 46 yards and a touchdown against the New England Patriots. However, there is still no reason to roster him, even with a favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 9. He simply does not have the usage needed to justify rostering him in any league.
In Week 8, Coleman had a 26% snap share and only ran a route on 19% of dropbacks. That was well behind Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, and Malik Washington, who all had route shares over 70%. With Miami still ranking 31st in pass rate over expectation, there just isn't enough volume to justify rostering Coleman moving forward.
