Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football waiver wire outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider adding off waivers in Week 14:

Darnell Mooney, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney failed to take advantage of Drake London (knee) being out of the lineup in Week 13 against the New York Jets, recording just two receptions for 25 yards on five targets. The 28-year-old easily had his best game of the season in Week 12 against the Saints with London out, hauling in all three targets for 74 yards and a touchdown, but he didn't find the same success on Sunday despite a favorable matchup.

It's been a disappointing year for the former Chicago Bear, as he has yet to record five or more catches in a game after doing so seven times in 16 games last year. The Atlanta offense isn't as effective with Kirk Cousins under center in place of Michael Penix Jr., either, but Mooney was still expected to take on a larger role in London's absence.

Mooney is just a fringe top-40 option at wide receiver at this point in the season, especially with London potentially returning as early as Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks. Mooney is probably only worth a starting lineup spot in fantasy football this weekend if London misses another game.

Troy Franklin, WR, Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin took a step backward in the offense on a night when quarterback Bo Nix attempted 45 passes in their 27-26 overtime win against the Washington Commanders.

Franklin averaged nine targets per game in the five games before the bye week, but regressed to having just three in Week 13, catching two of them for 21 yards and no touchdowns. Perhaps the resurgence of tight end Evan Engram (nine targets) stifled Franklin's production for what could've been a one-off dud, but this will be something to watch as the team is coming off their bye week.

Troy Franklin had five catches for 40 yards and a touchdown while facing the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10, so he will look to replicate that at least for Week 14.

Andrei Iosivas, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas has gotten extra playing time the last two weeks with Ja'Marr Chase (suspension) and Tee Higgins (concussion) missing time. Iosivas had four catches for 61 yards against the Patriots without Chase, but he only managed one catch for 29 yards against the Ravens. He still had a solid fantasy day, though, since his 29-yard catch went for a touchdown.

With Higgins still in the concussion protocol as the week of preparation begins for the Bengals' trip to Buffalo, Iosivas could be in an expanded role again this week.

If Higgins is out again, Iosivas will be a high-risk flex play with good upside since he should be set for more targets once again as Joe Burrow settles in and the Bengals try to make a late playoff push. Until Higgins is cleared, Iosivas still has solid fantasy value and potential.

Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. saw a steady increase in workload during Week 13's 20-17 win over the visiting Arizona Cardinals, reeling in 3-of-5 passes for 78 yards. The veteran saw a decent uptick in snap share this past weekend, eclipsing 50% of plays, and notching a team- and season-high with his yardage total.

It's an encouraging outing for Godwin Jr., who has spent most of the season battling ankle and fibula injuries. He should continue to see his involvement rise over the coming weeks as he's further removed from the latter, and may hold some fantasy value yet down the stretch.

The Penn State product's roster percentage is at one of its lowest rates in years, so now is a good time for fantasy managers to buy back in, particularly with a solid matchup in the New Orleans Saints slated for Week 14.

Harold Fannin, TE, Cleveland Browns

Across 12 games this season, Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has recorded 51 catches for 505 yards and three touchdowns on 74 targets. While the 21-year-old's numbers do not jump off the page, he's emerged as a consistent piece of the Browns' offense.

Entering Week 14, Fannin Jr. has earned at least five targets in seven consecutive games and 10 out of 12 total games this season. Fannin Jr. has also earned 11 targets across the two contests since Shedeur Sanders took over the starting quarterback job in Cleveland, the highest number of any Browns pass-catcher. The overall struggles of his team's offense limit Fannin Jr.'s upside.

Still, he provides a solid production floor as a low-end starting tight end option in PPR fantasy leagues. Heading into his Week 14 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, Fannin Jr. should be a waiver-wire target in PPR leagues with 12 or more teams.

Theo Johnson, TE, New York Giants

New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson posted modest production in his team's Week 13 loss to the New England Patriots, recording just three catches for 29 yards. However, the 24-year-old tied his single-game season-high with eight targets.

Across the last five games he's played with Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, Johnson has hauled in 19 catches for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson also rarely leaves the field in New York, playing at least 89% of the Giants' offensive snaps in three out of the last four weeks. With the Giants on their bye week in Week 14, fantasy managers desperate for a win may be forced to drop Johnson.

In leagues with 12 or more teams, Johnson could be worth targeting on the waiver wire and stashing through his bye week, given his favorable Week 15 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Jaleel McLaughlin, RB, Denver Broncos

For the second straight game in Sunday night's overtime win over the Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos running back Jaleel McLaughlin served as the team's No. 2 RB with J.K. Dobbins (foot) out for the year. McLaughlin played only 19% of the offensive snaps and had seven total touches for the second straight game.

His six rushing attempts (24 yards) were second on the team behind rookie RJ Harvey's 13 carries (35 yards). Harvey wasn't efficient (2.7 yards per tote), but he found the end zone twice. Although McLaughlin's snap count was his highest of the year, he was outsnapped by Harvey, Tyler Badie, and Adam Prentice. Before Denver's Week 12 bye, McLaughlin had six carries for 19 yards and his first touchdown of the year in the Week 11 win over the Chiefs.

The 25-year-old's limited usage is likely to continue going into a Week 14 divisional clash with the Raiders, making him only a deep-league stash for RB depth. McLaughlin is currently rostered in only 2% of Yahoo leagues.

Tank Bigsby, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Across 11 games since being acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles, running back Tank Bigsby has recorded just 18 carries for 164 yards. As long as star Eagles running back Saquon Barkley remains healthy, there appears to be a firm ceiling on Bigsby's playing time and opportunity for touches. The 24-year-old has logged double-digit offensive snaps in just one game this season.

However, Bigsby's average of 9.1 rushing yards per attempt is a clear indicator of his significant production upside if Barkley were to suffer an injury. In a larger, 168-carry sample size across 16 games with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024, Bigsby averaged 4.6 yards per attempt and scored seven rushing touchdowns.

Bigsby's never provided much production as a receiver, so fellow Eagles back Will Shipley would likely handle passing-downs work even if Barkley were to go down. Still, Bigsby is a high-end handcuff option who is worth rostering in fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams heading into a Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs has struggled lately, recording just five catches for 57 yards on 13 targets over the past three games. The 24-year-old hasn't been a major factor in the Colts' passing attack, taking a back seat to the team's other primary weapons.

Downs mostly operates out of the slot, limiting him to three-wide receiver sets. The former 2022 third-round pick is still a useful player in deeper PPR leagues, but it's tough to trust him in 12-team leagues.

He's totaled 40 receptions (59 targets) for 370 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games this season, averaging 8.5 PPR points. Downs at least has a more favorable Week 14 matchup against the Jaguars after facing the elite Texans defense last week.
