"This is our year". It's a sentence that has become synonymous with Dallas Cowboys fans ever since their last Super Bowl win in Super Bowl 30, and once again fans thought that things would be different this season after their embarrassing playoff loss to the 49ers in 2022.
The Cowboys started the year 3-2, but they rallied and seven of their next eight games with Dak Prescott receiving notable MVP consideration from the media. He threw for 23 touchdowns and just two interceptions in that run.
However, the team had a shaky end to the season, ending the year 2-2. They still won the NFC East but got embarrassed in the Wild Card round by Jordan Love's Green Bay Packers. After yet another postseason disappointment, Jerry Jones has reluctantly given Mike McCarthy one last chance to win with this core in 2024.

What Draft Picks Do The Dallas Cowboys Own?
The Cowboys currently have five picks in the draft, but they are projected to receive multiple compensatory picks when the NFL distributes 32 compensatory picks during the offseason. They have two picks in the first 56 selections.
The Dallas Cowboys will have the No. 24 pick in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.

Assuming that they won't trade their picks, this will be the fifth consecutive draft of the Cowboys having one first-round pick and one second-round pick. They have the 24th overall pick in the first round.
Who Could The Dallas Cowboys Draft In The First Round?
The Cowboys need to improve their running game if they want to win a championship with this core. Tony Pollard had a disappointing year but he's still a talented back, so he's not the issue. In the playoffs, games are won in the trenches and the Cowboys have to address this need in the draft.
People refer to the #Cowboys drafting Zack Martin in round 1 of the 2014 draft as to when the OL became dominant but that was just the completion of the process. Having a great Center will help tremendously with the ground game, and Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson could be the answer to Dallas' running woes. Graham Barton is also projected to play on the inside in the NFL and can help open things up for Pollard. They could also look at T Amarius Mims if they want to change one of their Offensive Tackles.
Emmitt Smith was a legend, but he didn't become who he was without a dominant offensive line propelling him to the stratosphere. OL should be Dallas' focus if they seriously want to win next year.
