DeVonta Smith Injury Update for Fantasy Football

Smith was sidelined for Week 4 as he is still in the NFL's concussion protocols.

The Eagles have a bye week in Week 5, meaning the next time he is expected to take the field will be in Week 6 against the Browns.

Usually when a player is in concussion protocols, it takes just over a week to recover. With two weeks of rest, the Eagles should expect Smith to return to the field in Week 6.

DeVonta Smith Fantasy Football Outlook

Needless to say, Smith will immediately be a must-start when he returns to action. Even if he's not 100% healthy, he should have WR1 upside.

When Smith returns from concussion protocol, he should be considered a WR1 in fantasy football. In just three games this season, Smith has demonstrated his impact on the field with 21 receptions for 239 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his ability to consistently move the chains and make big plays.

His chemistry with quarterback Jalen Hurts has been evident, allowing him to be a reliable target in both short and long-yardage situations.

With the potential for increased targets in the Eagles' high-powered offense, especially if other key receivers are sidelined, Smith's return could provide a significant boost to fantasy lineups.

Managers should be ready to plug him back into their starting roster, as he has the talent and opportunity to deliver strong weekly performances.
