Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups - Kareem Hunt, Trey Benson, Sean Tucker Fantasy Football Outlooks

Kareem Hunt - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Week 13 fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Kareem Hunt, Trey Benson, Sean Tucker in 2025. Read their waiver wire outlooks for fantasy football.

This time of year, it's incredibly difficult to find value at the running back position on the waiver wire. It's a scarce position to begin with.

Most of the top-scoring running backs in fantasy football were drafted in the first two rounds. And most of them have been healthy all year, leaving little opportunity for waiver wire heroes to save fantasy teams.

This week, you might find Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt, Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson (knee), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tailback Sean Tucker on waiver. But should you pick them up?

Kareem Hunt Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 72% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 12-Team Leagues

Chances are that, at this point, Hunt is rostered in all the leagues he should be rostered in. His 20-PPR point performance in Week 12 was his biggest of the season, as he rushed 30 times for 104 yards and a touchdown and caught all three of his targets for 26 yards.

He did lose a fumble, but it didn't change that he had an excellent week. The problem here is that "starting" RB Isiah Pacheco (knee) is slated to return for Week 13 on Thanksgiving. That will likely bump down Hunt's rushing work yet again.

It's important to keep things in perspective here. Hunt only had just under 3.5 yard per carry against one of the poorer rush defenses in the NFL, and the Chiefs tend to pass the ball at a very high rate. Next week, they'll face a weaker rush defense in the Dallas Cowboys.

Or maybe not, because ever since they added defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown came back from injury, they've been much stiffer against rushing attacks. It seems that the Chiefs will continue passing the ball very heavily against the Cowboys.

Hunt is worth an add in deeper leagues at least.

Trey Benson Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 68% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in All Leagues

Benson probably isn't available in most of your leagues. But if he is, he needs to be the No. 1 priority pickup for your team, because he's one of the few running backs left that has a workhorse role and isn't rostered in at least 80 percent of leagues.

That number will likely jump after this waiver period, of course. He's the starting RB, and there was plenty of hype for him after the Cardinals original RB1 for 2025, James Conner (ankle), went down with a season-ending injury.

This is a very simple analysis, though it's not easy to speculate on his upside considering all the moving pieces on the offense. Maybe he has low-end RB1 upside, maybe he'll be hamstrung by playing on a poor offense against better quality defenses.

But he simply must be rostered in all leagues. So pick him up if you can.

Sean Tucker Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups

Rostered: 74% of Leagues

Baller Move: Add in 14-Team Leagues

Tucker's utility in fantasy football is likely about to fall off a cliff. The most recent reporting has Buccaneers starting RB Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) returning for Week 13 action. It's possible that Tucker eats into his rushing workload, and Irving will probably be on a pitch count with restricted touches to start off.

But Tucker doesn't catch passes, and it's unclear who the goal-line back will be. In addition, Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is dealing with both shoulder and oblique injuries. If he plays, he'll be playing hurt, and if not, it will be backup QB Teddy Bridgewater running the offense.

Irving has been a very unproductive rusher this year, averaging under 3.4 yards per carry. Tucker has managed 4.4 yards per rush. Fellow Bucs RB Rachaad White is not a good pure runner. So Tucker has value in very deep leagues, but mostly as a handcuff.
