Week 11 Monday Night NFL Matchups Analysis: Start/Sit for Fantasy Football

It's time for the Week 11 installment of Monday night matchups with my start/sit recommendations. This week, Mexico City plays host to the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders in a clash of AFC playoff contenders.

Each week of the NFL season, we will be breaking down every game and providing you with some fantasy football advice and lineup recommendations based on matchups that we love, matchups that we hate, and injury information as well. It’s essential to analyze the weekly NFL matchups to find lineup sleepers and gems, while also avoiding those players who may turn out to be busts.

Editor's Note: New users that sign up on FantasyAces, make a $20 deposit, and enter any game will receive our full season NFL (or NBA) Premium Pass for free, a $59.99 value. Just email [email protected] with your new FantasyAces username - and boom, that's it! We will email you with your Premium pass.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Texans @ Raiders - Monday 11/21 @ 8:30 PM EST

Matchups We Love

Lamar Miller (RB, HOU) - If Miller were scoring touchdowns, his 2016 season would be considered a success so far. He entered the week seventh in rushing yards at 720, with a respectable 4.3 Y/A. He faces a Raiders defense that has allowed more rushing yards (942) than all but four NFL teams. Miller isn't seeing a huge workload these days, with no more than 17 rush attempts in the past three games, but he is always capable of breaking a long run and delivering huge value.

C.J. Fiedorowicz (TE, HOU) - The Raiders rank in the bottom 10 against the tight end position, allowing 8.9 fantasy points per game. Fiedorowicz has alternated games scoring touchdowns since Week 4, so he must be due this time around, right? Faulty logic aside, the third-year TE has averaged almost seven targets per game since that time and is a relatively safe, low-end TE1 this week.

Michael Crabtree (WR, OAK) - Oakland's receivers have been on the same page the last two weeks, both shining in Tampa and then struggling against Denver. Prior to Week 8, however, they had drastically split values each game. When one stood out, the other struggled. This could very well be the case in Week 11, with Crabtree getting the easier matchup against Jonathan Joseph, who has uncharacteristically struggled this year. King Crab is posting the second-best yards per game average of his career at 66.2 and has scored six TD in nine games. He is a WR2 for this matchup.

Matchups We Hate

Derek Carr (QB, OAK) - Houston's tough pass defense ranks fourth at limiting fantasy points to quarterbacks, even without star J.J. Watt for the past seven weeks. Lost in the midst of Carr's enormous day against Tampa Bay is the fact he has been extremely mediocre from a fantasy standpoint in three of the last four games. Carr should be ranked outside the top 10 QB this week before jumping back into the top tier against Carolina next week.

Amari Cooper (WR, OAK) - Although he's listed as questionable with recurring back issues, Cooper should be a full go on Monday Night. The bigger problem is that he will face the top-rated CB according to ProFootballFocus, A.J. Bouye. Standard league owners probably can't outright bench Cooper unless you happen to have a really deep receiving corps, but Cooper can be viewed as a low-end WR2 this week rather than the WR1 he usually is. His high price tag in DFS makes Crabtree a better value.

Will Fuller (WR, HOU) - He missed last week with a leg injury and is questionable to play against the Raiders. Even if he suits up, don't play him. Fuller will be matched up against David Amerson, who has graded out as a top-10 corner this season. Fuller hasn't turned in more than four catches or 23 yards in a game since Week 4, so he shouldn't be counted on until he shows signs of turning his rookie season around.

Brock Osweiler (QB, HOU) - Osweiler doesn't belong in starting lineups anywhere these days. Don't be fooled into thinking this matchup suits him well for sneaky value either. After a horrible first two weeks against top offenses, the Raiders have only had one game allowing 300 yards or three passing TD to an opposing quarterback (San Diego in Week 5). Leave Osweiler alone, even in two-QB leagues.

Notable Players

DeAndre Hopkins (WR, HOU) - He's gone scoreless the last four games and has only posted one 100-yard game this entire season. He is still being targeted a ton - nearly 12 times a game in the past four. Despite lackluster results, he could break out at any time and is just too hard to bench altogether.

Key Injuries: Alfred Blue (RB, HOU) - out, Jonathan Grimes (RB, HOU) - out, Will Fuller (WR, HOU) - questionable, Jaelen Strong (WR, HOU) - out, Amari Cooper (WR, OAK) - questionable, Latavius Murray (RB, OAK) - questionable
