Top-5 Hitting Prospects To Stash For Week 24 Fantasy Baseball Redraft Leagues (2024)

Jasson Dominguez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Prospect Call-Ups - icon rotoballer

Brian's top-5 fantasy baseball hitting prospects in MLB who can be stashed on your bench for Week 24 in fantasy redraft leagues as of September 6, 2024.

We've reached the final month of the fantasy baseball season and it's now time for fantasy managers to keep their eye on the prize. That would be fantasy playoffs in head-to-head leagues and finishing strong in roto leagues.

One way to get a bit of an edge is to look to players currently in the minor leagues who can help out over the final weeks of the season.

With rosters expanded as of September 1, it's a bit tricky to identify which prospects could get a call-up and which could remain in the minors for the duration of the season. Let's take a look at some useful names to stash in redraft leagues.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Jasson Dominguez - OF, New York Yankees

The thought was that Dominguez might get called up to the Yankees when rosters expanded, but he remains at Triple-A. The 21-year-old has homered in two straight games for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and is hitting .375/.474/.750 in four September games.

The Yankees have stuck with Alex Verdugo in the outfield in favor of opening up at-bats for Dominguez. As the division race heats up that could change, but the reality is with three wild-card spots, the Yankees should comfortably make the playoffs.

"The Martian" seems primed and ready to contribute at the big league level with his unique mix of power and speed as a switch-hitter. The question is whether the Yankees will give him the opportunity.

Deyvison De Los Santos - 3B/1B, Miami Marlins

De Los Santos is another name that many figured would be up in the major leagues by now. The Marlins have chosen to keep him in the minors, where he continues to mash. He has 37 homers and 109 RBI while hitting .303 between three different teams this season.

The power is intriguing for fantasy managers looking for a boost in the home run and RBI categories without having to sacrifice batting average.

De Los Santos has proven himself this year at Triple-A and deserves a shot with the Marlins. Miami, however, may wait until next year to give him his major league debut. If he does get called up this year, though, De Los Santos could be a fantasy difference-maker.

Dalton Rushing - C/DH/OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

Rushing was red-hot at Triple-A Oklahoma City in August as he transitioned to a full-time outfield role. He hit .330/.448/.660 with nine homers and 23 RBI last month.

With catcher eligibility in fantasy, Rushing could be a bit of a cheat code if he does get called up this season and moving forward. A full-time outfielder who plays every day and can slot into a catcher position is pure gold for fantasy purposes.

Rushing is a premium prospect who has been producing at a high level since being promoted to Triple-A. All signs point to a successful major league debut. It might be time to get ahead of other fantasy managers in stashing Rushing.

Matt Shaw - 3B/2B/SS, Chicago Cubs

Shaw is perhaps the most intriguing of the many Cubs top prospects currently playing at Triple-A Iowa. The organization's No. 2 overall prospect, Shaw, is hitting .250/.370/.412 with three homers and 10 RBI in 20 games with Iowa.

He has a nice blend of power and speed and possesses a polished approach at the plate. His infield versatility makes him arguably the most likely of the Cubs' prospects to get the call-up to Chicago.

There doesn't appear to be a glaring opening at the major-league level for Shaw, but the Cubs could push the envelope and sneak his bat into the lineup with him playing various infield positions.

Roman Anthony - OF, Boston Red Sox

Since his promotion to Triple-A Worcester, Anthony has been crushing baseball, hitting .338/.421/.550 in 20 games with three homers and 12 RBI to go with two steals. At 20 years old, he is one of the most exciting prospects in baseball with his off-the-charts athleticism.

Anthony could force the issue as far as one more promotion to Boston before the season's end. Boston is in the mix for a playoff spot, so they could look to Anthony as a boost, or if they fall out of contention, they could look to get him a taste of the majors before a full debut next season.

Anthony appears to be a can't-miss prospect whose stock continues to soar as he proves his value at each stop in the minors. He is the future of the outfield position in Boston; it's just a question of when fans and fantasy managers alike will get to see him patrol the grass at Fenway.
