Should I pickup Van Jefferson or Chig Okonkwo as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 12 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.
The Titans' offense hasn't been a particularly fruitful one for fantasy purposes this season. Now with Calvin Ridley (leg) out for the year, other players will be thrust into more prominent roles.
Two veterans who have played a high snap share for Tennessee this season are wide receiver Van Jefferson and tight end Chig Okonkwo. Rookie quarterback Cameron Ward has struggled, but could look to lean more heavily on those veterans down the stretch.
Should you pick up Jefferson or Okonkwo ahead of Week 12? Let's dive in.

Van Jefferson Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Jefferson has been a depth receiver for most of his career and hasn't shown the ability to elevate his performance with increased opportunity. He hasn't been a target earner, and he hasn't been efficient on the targets he receives. The 29-year-old has accumulated 17 receptions for 189 yards and one touchdown on 33 targets in 10 games this season, but has seen an uptick in playing time lately.
The former second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was fifth on the team in snap share (25.8%) and route share (22.4%) over the first five weeks. Since then, however, Jefferson has been in a full-time role, playing 82% of the snaps and running 78.5% of the routes, both second on the team in that span.
Tennessee's pair of rookie wideouts, Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, have led the passing game in production in this time. Dike has filled the underneath, low aDOT role to let him generate YAC, while Jefferson and Ayomanor operate more downfield. Ayomanor missed Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, and his status for Sunday against the Seahawks is in doubt.

With Ridley already out and Ayomanor trending in the wrong direction, Jefferson could be worth adding in deeper leagues as one of the few viable targets in the passing game. It is a tough matchup in Week 12, but Jefferson could maintain relevancy beyond this week now that he is running a full number of routes, and Tennessee is likely to be in plenty of negative game scripts. Jefferson is rostered in 0.5% of ESPN leagues.
Chig Okonkwo Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Okonkwo had intriguing advanced numbers as a rookie in 2022, leading the team with a 27% targets per route run and 2.68 yards per route run on 168 routes, per SumerSports. The 26-year-old hasn't built on that promise since. Okonkwo hasn't been a relevant fantasy tight end in 12-team leagues outside of a few splash weeks here and there.
The fourth-round pick out of Maryland in the 2022 NFL Draft came into 2025 with some buzz as a potential safety blanket for a rookie quarterback, but the production hasn't been there as the Titans have been the worst offense in the league by EPA/Play (-0.180). He's totaled 32 catches on 42 targets for 337 yards and no touchdowns, ranking as the TE32 in PPR points per game (6.6).

Rookie tight end Gunnar Helm has also been cutting into Okonkwo's opportunities, flashing upside when given snaps. Helm hasn't run more routes than Okonkwo in a game yet, but they each played 66.7% of the snaps in Week 11 with the Titans using more 12 personnel packages. Okonkwo is more intriguing with Ridley out for the year, but it's hard to get too excited. He is rostered in 6.1% of ESPN leagues.
Should I Pickup Van Jefferson or Chig Okonkwo For Fantasy Football?
It's tough to trust any player in this Tennessee offense outside of deeper leagues. While there is plenty of opportunity for production, neither Jefferson nor Okonkwo has shown enough in the past to justify being rostered in 12-team leagues. Jefferson is the more intriguing option in deeper leagues, however.
Fantasy managers are better off avoiding this offense entirely until we see a reason to change course. The highest-scoring Titan in fantasy on a per-game basis this season has been kicker Joey Slye, which pretty much says it all.
