What Has Jarrett Stidham Done In His Career So Far?
Quarterback Jarrett Stidham was a fourth-round pick by the New England Patriots in 2019. The 26-year-old has appeared in 11 regular season games in his four seasons, completing 32 of 61 passes for 342 yards (5.6 YPA), two TDs, and four INTs to date.
Despite not yet starting a game in his career, Stidham has deep familiarity with his offensive system, having spent his entire career under current Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels. McDaniels served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach during Stidham’s time with New England, and when McDaniels took on the head coaching role with Las Vegas this past offseason, he took Stidham with him as the Raiders backup.
Having never topped 25 snaps in any single game, Week 17 will be Stidham’s first real opportunity to prove himself in the NFL regular season.
What Does Jarrett Stidham’s Matchup Look Like This Week?
Stidham has a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in his first career start in Week 17. San Francisco boasts the number-one scoring defense in the NFL, giving up an average of 15.3 points per game.
The 49ers are also the eighth-toughest matchup for opposing fantasy QBs this season, giving up an average of 12.9 fantasy points to opposing QBs in their last eight games.
Should I Pickup And Start Jarrett Stidham In Week 17 Fantasy Football?
The Raiders will likely attempt to lean on RB Josh Jacobs against the 49ers and not ask much of Stidham in his first career start.
Stidham is a bottom-tier QB3 in an extremely difficult matchup this week. He should be avoided in all leagues.
