Will Harry Kane win the Golden Boot in the World Cup? 2022 World Cup Awards Predictions

Will Harry Kane win the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot award? Read our 2022 FIFA World Cup predictions, soccer betting picks, and Golden Boot best bets.

The World Cup is finally here. A few months later than usual but here nonetheless. And the team at RotoBaller has you covered for all your World Cup needs. We'll be bringing you DFS articles, game previews, and betting picks throughout the competition.

The Golden Boot is an award given to the top goal-scorer at the World Cup. The award is one of the oldest traditions of the tournament. Harry Kane won the Golden Boot in the 2018 World Cup, netting six goals in six games for England as they finished fourth.

Kane is two goals away from tying Wayne Rooney's international scoring record for The Three Lions. The 29-year-old forward has scored an impressive 51 goals in 75 appearances for England and is the favorite to repeat as the Golden Boot winner. Will Harry Kane lead England in scoring? Should I pick Harry Kane to win the Golden Boot?

Will Harry Kane Lead England in Scoring?

The English attack is potent. Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish, and Bukayo Saka round out a forceful front line. Midfielders Phil Foden and Mason Mount provide playmakers underneath Kane.

Although the talent surrounding Kane is elite and capable of scoring themselves, the Three Lions' offense runs through Harry Kane. The rest of England's squad accounted for six goals in the 2018 World Cup, as many as Kane had himself.

The English are abundant in scoring options, but none are as refined as Harry Kane. The Tottenham Hotspur is one of the most decorated goalscorers our generation has seen and is England's premier finisher.

Should I Pick Harry Kane to Win the Golden Boot?

2018's Golden Boot winner is rightfully the frontrunner to win the award in this year's World Cup. Across World Cup qualifier and tournament play, Kane has scored 23 goals in 20 games representing England.

The English have a strong chance of making a deep run once again. They are the heavy favorites to win their group, consisting of the USA, Wales, and Iran. After finishing as the 2020 Euro runner-up last summer, England remains in top-notch form heading into the tournament.

England is one of the safest bets to make it out of group play and has the potential to max out at seven games once again. Given the abundant opportunities Harry Kane will see, he is a logical pick for the Golden Boot. Betting on the favorite is never fun and has the lowest return, but at +700, Harry Kane is a respectable pick to win.
