Yoshinobu Yamamoto To Pitch In Rehab Game Next Wednesday
4 months agoIf all goes well with his next bullpen session, Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (triceps) will start a minor-league rehab game next Wednesday and go two innings. Yamamoto has been out since June 15, so he's going to need at least several rehab starts before he's stretched out sufficiently and ready to rejoin the big-league starting rotation. The 26-year-old is targeting a return around sometime in the middle of September, which unfortunately won't give him more than a few starts to make an impact for fantasy managers that have been stashing him all this time. At this point in the season, the Dodgers' primary objective is to have the Japanese hurler be 100% healthy and ready to go for the playoffs. Yamamoto was impressive in his first 14 big-league starts, posting a 2.92 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with a 27.9% strikeout rate and low 5.7% walk rate.
