Willy Adames Returns on Tuesday After Injuring his Thumb
San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames (thumb) is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Ryne Nelson at Chase Field and will bat fifth in the lineup, according to MLB.com. Adames was pulled from Monday night's loss early as a precaution after suffering a bruised right thumb when he was hit by a ground ball, but he'll be right back in there the next day. The 30-year-old Dominican is hitting just .238 (45-for-189) with four home runs, 14 RBI, 18 runs scored, and a stolen base in 47 games so far this year, but he has gone 15-for-37 (.405) with a homer, three doubles, eight RBI, and four runs scored in nine games since May 10. Fantasy managers will hope that Adames can continue to produce in a matchup against Nelson, who has also been much better on the mound recently.
