Will Vest Earns 17th Save Of Season Monday
Will Vest picked up his 17th save of the season in Monday's 2-1 win over the White Sox. Vest entered the game in the bottom of the ninth inning up by one and turned in a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout. The 30-year-old is having a solid season, converting 17 of 22 save opportunities with five wins, a 2.66 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, and a 10.13 K/9 rate in 50 2/3 innings of work. The Tigers did trade for former Nationals closer Kyle Finnegan at the trade deadline, who pitched the eighth inning in Monday's game and earned the win. Finnegan has seen the team's most save opportunities in the last 15 days, but Vest should remain a useful fantasy option in deeper roto leagues.
