White Sox Designate Yohan Ramirez For Assignment
12 months agoThe Chicago White Sox have designated relief pitcher Yohan Ramirez for assignment. The move came Wednesday as Ramirez was designated after the signing of starter Eric Fedde became official. The right-hander split the Pirates and White Sox and worked to a decent 4.23 ERA across 31 appearances but also struggled to a 9.00 ERA across five outings upon a move to Chicago. The 28-year-old has made 102 career appearances and has worked to a solid 3.99 ERA in that time but he also sports a 5.05 FIP, 4.38 SIERA, and an elevated 12.5% BB% in stints with the Mariners, Guardians, Pirates, and White Sox. He should garner interest on a minor-league deal given his solid surface ERA in his career.
