Wes Phillips To Stay With Vikings
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Chargers requested to speak with Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips about their open offensive coordinator position, but Phillips plans to stay in Minnesota, according to sources. He is highly valued in Minnesota, and the Vikings are building something that he wants to see through. The Chargers are looking for a new offensive coordinator after firing Joe Lombardi earlier in the week. Phillips moved with Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell from the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 after coaching in LA for three years. He has also coached for the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys. Retaining Phillips is good news for all of Minnesota's offensive weapons, most notably quarterback Kirk Cousins, running back Dalvin Cook and wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
