Miami Marlins outfield prospect Victor Mesa Jr. (hamstring) is dealing with tightness in his right hamstring. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status throughout camp, as he may be in danger of missing time, depending on the severity of the injury. Mesa spent the entire 2024 campaign at Triple-A and does have a path to cracking the Opening Day roster. Across his first 80 contests at Triple-A, the 23-year-old posted a strong .259/.319/.430 slash line with 14 doubles, 13 home runs, and five stolen bases. This was similar to the .242/.308/.412 line, he posted across 123 games at Double-A during the 2023 campaign. When healthy, fantasy managers should expect Mesa to compete for a role in center field alongside Dane Myers and Derek Hill. Given this injury, the team may opt to give Mesa additional time to rest, likely resulting in him opening the season at Triple-A.--Andy Smith
