The Houston Texans did a simple restructure on linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair's three-year, $34 million contract to clear $6.26 million on this year's salary cap, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Al-Shaair's deal included an $11 million signing bonus and $21.5 million in total guarantees. His scheduled $9 million base salary for the upcoming season was lowered to create more financial flexibility this offseason for the defending AFC South champions. Al-Shaair also has automatically voidable years in 2027 and 2028 of $15 million annually. In his first year with the Texans in 2024, the 27-year-old had 70 tackles (45 solo), two sacks, seven tackles for loss, seven QB hits and two forced fumbles in 11 regular-season starts. He missed three games late in the year due to a knee injury that slowed him down in the postseason.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
