Sean Manaea to Make Rehab Start on Tuesday
Sean Manaea (elbow, oblique) will make a minor-league rehab start for Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday night. Manaea hasn't pitched all year in the big leagues due to an oblique injury before recently being diagnosed with a loose body in his left elbow. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw received a cortisone injection last week and appears to have recovered nicely, so he'll test out his injuries in the minors this week. If everything goes well, it's possible that Manaea will be activated from the injured list and make his 2025 debut for the Mets before the All-Star break in mid-July. Now is the time to grab him off the waiver wire if he's available in your league and you are in need of rotation depth. The odds of Manaea replicating his strong season from a year ago in his first year in New York might be remote, but he can still be useful in deep-mixed leagues in the right matchups. UPDATE: Manaea is expected to throw 45 to 50 pitches on Tuesday.
