Sam Long Moving Rehab Assignment to Triple-A
Sam Long's (elbow) minor-league rehab assignment to be moved from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to Triple-A Omaha on Friday. Long made his first rehab appearance in the ACL on Tuesday and gave up one run on two hits while walking none and striking out one, and the 29-year-old southpaw will now get some work in with the Storm Chasers before eventually being activated from the 15-day injured list. He initially went on the IL on April 13 with inflammation in his left elbow. The former 18th-round pick by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016 out of Sacramento State doesn't have any real fantasy value as a low-leverage relief arm for the Royals when he's healthy. Long had allowed 12 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits (two homers) while walking five and fanning six in seven relief innings this year before his injury.
