Ryan McMahon, Jasson Dominguez Sitting Against Tough Lefty
Ryan McMahon and outfielder Jasson Dominguez will both start on the bench for Game 2 of the series in the Bronx against the division-rival Boston Red Sox with left-hander Garrett Crochet on the mound. Amed Rosario is starting at third base and will hit fifth, while Cody Bellinger shifts to left field and will bat out of the three-hole. McMahon is having a tough season at the plate, and it hasn't improved since he landed in New York. The 30-year-old has gone 7-for-48 since Aug. 2 and is batting .200 (20-for-100) with two of his 17 homers on the year and 38 strikeouts against lefties this year. Dominguez is a switch-hitter but has started only three of the team's last six games and is hitting .198 (18-for-91) with one of his nine home runs on the year against southpaws. Bellinger actually has four hits (one homer, two RBI) in eight career at-bats against Crochet.
