With the 23rd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Houston Rockets have drafted Real Madrid center Usman Garuba. This is the second international big taken by Houston in this draft after they traded up for Alperen Sengun. You can argue that both players were steals based on their upside, and if this works for Houston, the team might have just found their future frontcourt. Of course, the chances that both players pan out is probably low, but Garuba has a lot of upside. You might not see it in the numbers from last year as he was playing in a tough league at the age of 19, but he's a high-ceiling defender who can protect the paint for the Rockets. He can also finish well at the bucket, though his scoring will need work. Garuba's unlikely to be a huge contributor this season, but he's an interesting long term pick.--Justin Carter - RotoBallerRead More News
