Riley Greene Begins Rehab Assignment
1 year agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene (leg) started his minor-league rehab assignment on Monday with Triple-A Toledo. Greene has been out since May 30 after suffering a stress fracture in his left fibula, but he's getting closer to a return to the major-league level. The 22-year-old will take this week to get back up to speed in minor-league contests, and barring any setbacks, he should be ready to rock for the start of the second half of the season after next week's All-Star break. When healthy, Greene is Detroit's starting center fielder. He should be rostered more than the 55 percent that he currently is in Yahoo leagues. Before his injury, Greene was hitting an impressive .296/.362/.443 with an .805 OPS, five home runs, 18 RBI, six steals and 29 runs scored in 52 games in his second MLB campaign.
