Falcons Coaching Staff Remains Fully Confident in Michael Penix Jr.
Michael Penix Jr. remaining the starter is "absolutely still in place." Penix Jr. struggled mightily in the team's 30-0 Week 3 loss to the Carolina Panthers, completing 18 of 36 pass attempts for 172 yards and two interceptions. After a 298-yard performance in Week 1, Penix Jr. has now failed to crack 200 yards passing or find the end zone in two consecutive games. Atlanta has a proven veteran quarterback in Kirk Cousins waiting in the wings, but it does not appear that the team is anywhere close to making a switch under center. Penix Jr. profiles as a low-end fantasy QB2 heading into his Week 4 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Aaron Rodgers Throws Two Touchdowns in Win Over Patriots
Aaron Rodgers completed 16 of 23 passes for 139 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 21-14 win over the Patriots. It was a low-play volume day for the Steeers, running only 49 plays to the Patriots' 71. Rodgers checked down to running back Jaylen Warren most often, leading the team with six targets. But he did find both top wide receiver options in D.K. Metcalf and Calvin Austin III for touchdowns. He's established a solid connection with Austin in the early going, and he could be a valuable piece for them to help generate explosive plays. The upside for Rodgers with the Pittsburgh offense is not interesting enough for fantasy purposes, and he is best left on the waiver wire in standard redraft leagues and viewed as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.

Carson Wentz Solid in Blowout Win Against Bengals
Carson Wentz completed 14 of 20 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushes for four yards in Minnesota's 48-10 rout of the Bengals. He also took three sacks for a loss of 19 yards. Wentz made his first non-Week 18 start since New Year's Day in 2023 with the Washington Commanders, when he had one of the worst games of his career, throwing for only 143 yards and tying a career high of three interceptions in a 24-10 loss to the Browns that essentially eliminated Washington from the playoffs. Wentz managed the offense well in this game; however, targeting Justin Jefferson most often and finding tight end T.J. Hockenson for a touchdown to get him going. There will inevitably be some frustrating moments with Wentz, but he will be able to operate Kevin O'Connell's offense at a competent level with the assortment of weapons at his disposal, plus Jordan Addison returning from suspension in Week 4. There's a chance he keeps it for the rest of the season if he plays well and the winning continues. He should be viewed as a priority pickup in most superflex leagues.

Matthew Stafford Throws for Two Touchdowns in Week 3
Matthew Stafford completed 19 of 33 pass attempts for 196 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in his team's 33-26 Week 3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The 37-year-old is off to a solid start to his 2025 season, completing 66.3% of his passes for 739 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions through three games. Stafford's complete lack of rushing ability limits his fantasy upside. Still, he's averaging over 30 pass attempts per game while piloting a Rams offense that can put up points in bunches. Stafford is worth rostering in all two-quarterback formats, and profiles as a low-end QB2 heading into his Week 4 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

Tua Tagovailoa Hard to Start in Any Format
Tua Tagovailoa showed some improvement the last two weeks, but his team's offense continues to struggle, and he's not playing like a top-25 quarterback right now, making him only a fringe option, even in dual-quarterback deep leagues. He has thrown at least one interception in each game this season after throwing for 161 yards and two touchdowns, along with his late interception against the Bills on Thursday. He has failed to exceed 5.0 yards per attempt in 2-of-3 outings and seems to be more hesitant than ever to take deep shots. When he does take deep shots, they're often off-target and sometimes intercepted. His contract will likely keep him in the lineup for the Dolphins the rest of the season, but he doesn't belong in your fantasy lineup until he turns things around. The entire Dolphins team seems in need of a reset, which will likely come after this season. He does have a good matchup on Monday Night Football against the Jets, but he's still not a good fantasy play at this point.

Is Jordan Love Unstartable In Fantasy?
Jordan Love has had to bank on efficiency through the first few weeks of the season. For all the great things about the Packers' offense that we've seen, it's not a friendly offense for fantasy football. Week 3 was more of the same for Love as he threw for just 183 yards with one touchdown and an interception against a tough Cleveland Browns defense. Love has not been a top 12 fantasy quarterback once through three games, as he's capped out at QB13 in his Week 2 matchup against the Commanders, where Love threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns. Passing volume is a major concern for the Packers as well, as the Packers have just one game over 30 passing attempts since Week 9 of 2024: that same game against the Commanders in Week 2. That game was also just the fourth game of 20+ fantasy points for Love in his last 16 starts where he didn't leave the game, dating back to 2023. The Packers have a prime matchup against the Cowboys, who have given up the most passing yardage in the NFL, but Love cannot be a trusted QB1 or even a streaming option. Given Love's capped ceiling of opportunity and lack of fantasy production within that, he's best left as a QB2 in two-quarterback leagues.

Tyler Shough Unimpressive in Mop-Up Duty
Tyler Shough saw his first action of the season on Sunday, entering the game for his team's final drive in a blowout loss to the Seahawks. He threw twice on his three plays, missing an open tight end in the flat and sailing a deep pass out of bounds while taking a hit. Starting quarterback Spencer Rattler is now 0-9 dating back to last year, so any spark provided by Shough in his limited work could have fueled momentum for a quarterback change. Shough did not look impressive in the preseason, and although the sample size was tiny on Sunday, he still does not look ready to lead an NFL offense. With the Saints in line for an early pick in next year's draft, fantasy managers holding Shough might want to see what they can get for him the moment they hear rumblings of him starting a game.

Giants Name Jaxson Dart Their Starting QB
Jaxson Dart their starting quarterback and will bench veteran Russell Wilson heading into a Week 4 contest this Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Giants had a package of plays for Dart in the first three weeks, but he did not attempt a pass. Wilson threw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, but he looked washed up in the other two games and led the team to an 0-3 start. With both general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll on the hot seat in 2025, they will turn to Dart early on to try to save their jobs. The 22-year-old from Ole Miss looked great in the preseason, going 32-for-47 for 372 yards, three TDs, and no interceptions, but he'll face a swarming L.A. defense in his first NFL start this weekend. Dart should be rostered in two-QB superflex leagues, but expect growing pains with more tough opponents coming on the Giants' schedule.

Brian Callahan Giving Up Play-Calling Duties
Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan announced on Tuesday that he is handing offensive play-calling duties to quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree, starting in Week 4 against the division-rival Houston Texans. Nick Holz remains the offensive coordinator and will work alongside Callahan and Hardegree. Callahan has been Tennessee's play-caller since he became the head coach last year. Hardegree is in his 12th season in the NFL, but he has only called plays once, back in 2023 with the Las Vegas Raiders after head coach Josh McDaniels and offensive coordinator Loe Lombardi were fired. The Titans come into Week 4 ranked 31st in yards per game, 32nd in touchdowns, 32nd in passing yards, and 32nd in sacks allowed. Although Hardegree has little experience calling plays, the hope is that he can get more out of rookie quarterbackVikings Not Fully Committed to J.J. McCarthy Returning to Starting Role When Healthy?
J.J. McCarthy (ankle) has already ditched his walking boot on his sprained right ankle, and the team is hoping to "get him up to speed quickly," according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. However, O'Connell declined to say if he was 100 percent committed to starting McCarthy over Carson Wentz once McCarthy is healthy. Wentz threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns and didn't commit any turnovers in a 48-10 blowout win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3 with McCarthy sidelined, and McCarthy has already been ruled out for Week 4 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. O'Connell doesn't want the former first-rounder to play until mobility and ability to practice aren't affected by his ankle. The Michigan product had the NFL's second-lowest QBR (20.3) in the Week 2 loss to the Falcons, and it sounds like Minnesota isn't going to rush McCarthy back into the starting role until they're confident that he's ready. O'Connell said "there is value" in watching a veteran like Wentz play.

Mac Jones Considered Day-to-Day with Knee Injury
Mac Jones (knee) re-aggravated an existing PCL sprain in his knee during the team's Week 3 win and is considered day-to-day with the injury, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner. Jones has played well in relief of 49ers QB1 Brock Purdy (shoulder), throwing for 563 yards and four touchdowns across the team's last two games. Purdy was close to returning for Week 3, so it seems as though he should be on track to suit up for the team's Week 4 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Purdy's return would obviously nullify the impact of Jones' health status, but Jones' practice availability is still worth monitoring until Purdy is confirmed as good to go for Week 4.

"Inevitable" that Jaxson Dart Takes Over at Quarterback in New York?
Russell Wilson to rookie Jaxson Dart at quarterback, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Giants head coach Brian Daboll avoided committing to Wilson as the starter after the team's 22-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Wilson and the Giants' offense had a massive game in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, but have otherwise been held to 15 points and one touchdown in their other two games. The 22-year-old Dart has seen some game action operating the read option but has yet to throw an NFL pass. He should be rostered in all two-quarterback leagues and could be a low-end QB2 option if he gets the start in Week 4, although he would have a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Michael Penix Jr. Was "Off"
Michael Penix Jr. had his worst game since taking over as the team's starting quarterback on Sunday against the Panthers. He completed only 18 of 36 pass attempts for 172 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. On Monday, in his press conference, head coach Raheem Morris said, "He was off... I don't want to take away the fact that he did not play well." Morris added that Penix "Got a little down on himself, got a little upset." Penix is a first-year starter, so some inconsistency is to be expected, but hopefully, he can avoid such a drastic down game again this season. He and the 1-2 Falcons are home this week against the Commanders before heading into a Week 5 bye week. For now, Penix will remain the starter, although more games like Sunday's could result in calls for Kirk Cousins to take back over.

Jared Goff has Reduced Workload on Monday Night
Jared Goff led his team to a huge road win in Baltimore on Monday Night and re-established his team as one of the teams to beat in the NFC. However, his total stats were not that spectacular since he threw for just 202 passing yards and one touchdown, while also adding six rushing yards on four carries. Goff wasn't asked to do as much heavy lifting since the "Sonic and Knuckles" tandem of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs was absolutely dominant on the ground, totaling 218 rushing yards on 34 carries and scoring four rushing touchdowns. Goff and the Lions will look to claim a third straight win when they come home for a Week 4 matchup against the Browns. Goff will remain a high-upside play, but he is volatile because the rest of his team is so strong that he can have a quiet day while his team still dominates.

Lamar Jackson Throws for 288 Yards, Three Touchdowns in Loss to Lions
Lamar Jackson completed 21 of 27 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 35 yards on seven carries in Monday night's 38-30 loss to Detroit. Jackson struggled a bit in this game against a good Lions pass rush, taking seven sacks for a loss of 55 yards. The seven sacks tie a career high. But he still helped move the ball efficiently otherwise and frequently relied on Mark Andrews, who caught all six of his targets for 91 yards and two touchdowns. The last touchdown came with 29 seconds remaining when the result was well decided, but the fantasy points all count the same. The defense hasn't held up for Baltimore so far, which could mean plenty of shootouts for Jackson and the Ravens' offense. Jackson should continue to be viewed as the top fantasy QB.
