New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) was limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Boutte was a popular waiver-wire add in fantasy this week after his breakout Week 1, where he recorded six catches for 103 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 23-year-old has a chance to establish himself as a starting outside receiver for New England this season as long as this shoulder injury does not limit his availability or effectiveness. Boutte's practice status on Friday is worth monitoring, as he will probably enter the weekend with a questionable tag if he is unable to practice in full.--Will Brady

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was a full participant in the team's practice on Thursday, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Judkins missed practice on Wednesday due to a meeting with the NFL surrounding his offseason arrest on domestic violence allegations. Given that Judkins is practicing fully, it's possible he could make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. The 21-year-old missed all of training camp, so Cleveland will likely bring him along slowly and have him split touches early on with fellow rookie back Dylan Sampson and veteran Jerome Ford. Judkins should not be started in fantasy even if he's active in Week 2, but he should be rostered in all league formats as a stash play.--Will Brady

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Charvarius Ward (concussion) did not practice on Thursday due to a concussion, per James Boyd of The Athletic. Neither Ward nor cornerback Jaylon Jones (hamstring) has practiced yet this week, so the Colts' secondary could be severely shorthanded for its Week 2 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Ward earned the 15th-highest grade out of 113 cornerbacks from Pro Football Focus for his work in Week 1. If Ward is unable to play on Sunday, the outlook for top Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton and the rest of Denver's passing game could be quite favorable.--Will Brady

The New York Giants have claimed wide receiver Xavier Gipson off waivers from the New York Jets, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Gipson was released by the Jets after his costly special teams fumble played a big role in the team's Week 1 loss. With the Giants, Gipson should have a chance to battle wide receiver Gunner Olszewski for a role as a reserve slot receiver and primary special teamer. In 35 career NFL games, Gipson has recorded 27 receptions for 268 yards and one touchdown. He should remain off the radar of fantasy managers.--Will Brady

Following the UFC 317 loss against Ilia Topuria, former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira is not considering retirement. "I don't even think about that. I think I'm doing well and in a good phase right now," Oliveria's interpreter said on his behalf. "For me, I think there's still a lot I can show. I feel a lot of pleasure in doing what I'm doing." Oliveira has suffered defeats in three of his last five fights after riding an 11-fight winning streak to a championship run. However, his losses came against some of the best lightweights in the UFC, and he'll have a chance to get back in the win column against Rafael Fiziev on October 11 in his home country of Brazil.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster finished second on the team in targets (five) in Week 1, hauling in five catches for 55 yards. With top Chiefs wideouts Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (suspension) both currently sidelined, Smith-Schuster could be a consistent feature in the team's passing game over the next few weeks. While the 28-year-old is not an explosive player, he has shown an ability to be a reliable short-area target, particularly when playing next to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Because of his projectable floor as a target earner, Smith-Schuster could be a useful bench receiver in deep PPR-leagues while Kansas City is battling wide receiver injuries--Will Brady

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio said on The Rich Eisen Show on Thursday that he thinks Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill could be this year's Davante Adams. Based on his contract alone, Florio doesn't think Hill will be with Miami next year, and if they continue to lose early in 2025, the incentive to move him will become even greater. After the Dolphins' Week 1 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Florio was told that both the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers were eyeing Hill. However, things have become more complicated after a report surfaced on Monday that Hill is being accused of domestic violence. A change of scenery might be best for Hill's declining fantasy value in a Dolphins offense that is no longer explosive, but it remains to be seen if it will actually happen. Returning to the Chiefs makes a lot of sense with Rashee Rice currently suspended and Xavier Worthy dealing with a dislocated shoulder.--Keith Hernandez

Cleveland Browns rookie second-round running back Quinshon Judkins was seen running through drills in the early part of practice on Thursday, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. It was Judkins' first practice since mandatory minicamp in June, before he was involved in a domestic-violence case that caused him to miss all of training camp and the preseason. The 21-year-old Ohio State product didn't sign his rookie deal with the Browns until last weekend, but now that he's under contract with the team and back at practice, it's possible he could make his NFL debut in Week 2 versus the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. Although Judkins won't be charged with a criminal offense, it's possible the NFL eventually hands him a multi-game suspension. Judkins should be stashed in all fantasy formats, but if he's active this Sunday, he won't be a realistic option for starting fantasy lineups just yet.--Keith Hernandez

Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams (head) is expected to play in Saturday's SEC vs. Big Ten matchup against Wisconsin, according to ESPN's Mark Schlabach. The sophomore preseason All-American was injured in the Week 1 loss to Florida State after hitting his head on the turf and did not play in last week's blowout win over UL-Monroe. Williams impressed as a 17-year-old true freshman a year ago, catching 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. In his 2025 debut, he was limited to just 30 yards and notably dropped three passes in the fourth quarter from quarterback Ty Simpson. Saturday's game will be an opportunity for Williams to bounce back and build on his electric freshman campaign, assuming he can suit up. He is viewed as a sure-fire future NFL first-round pick.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright (knee) was back on the practice field on Thursday and was wearing a compression sleeve on his injured right leg, according to Alain Poupart of SI.com. This was the early portion of practice open to the media, so it's unclear if Wright was officially limited, but it's a good sign nonetheless after he missed the season-opening loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The 22-year-old had surgery on his right knee back in August and is expected to miss multiple weeks at the start of the 2025 campaign, so it would be wise to expect him to sit out in Week 2 in a divisional clash against the New England Patriots. If he's inactive again this weekend, Wright's next chance to play would be in Week 3 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills. Rookie Ollie Gordon II only had two carries for four yards as the RB2 behind De'Von Achane in Week 1. UPDATE: Wright was officially limited on Thursday.--Keith Hernandez

Miami Marlins catching prospect Joe Mack went just 1-for-4 on Tuesday for Triple-A Jacksonville, but his lone hit was a big one, a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Marlins' third-ranked prospect has now homered in four straight games and five of his last seven, bringing his season total to 20. The 22-year-old now owns a .256/.336/.474 slash line with a .360 wOBA and 119 wRC+ in 106 games this year (93 at Triple-A, 13 at Double-A). The 22-year-old is trending toward a major league debut next year, and with some good power, he could be intriguing for fantasy, however, the Marlins also have plenty of young depth right now at the position, with both Agustin Ramirez and Liam Hicks handling duties behind the plate. So, Mack would have to somehow find regular at-bats when he gets there to make himself fantasy relevant.--Jarod Rupp

New York Jets rookie tight end Mason Taylor (ankle) is back on the practice field on Thursday after he sat out of the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Although Taylor's status for Week 2 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills could still be up in the air, his return to practice is a good sign. We'll have a better idea of his availability once we know if he was full or limited, but right now it looks as though he's trending toward being active on Sunday. The 21-year-old got off to a quiet start to his NFL career in the Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching just one pass, although it did go for a healthy 20-yard gain. Taylor has plenty of long-term upside, but early on, he's probably only a stash option in single-year, TE-premium leagues. For Week 2 against Buffalo, consider him a TE3. UPDATE: Taylor was officially limited on Thursday.--Keith Hernandez

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) remains sidelined at practice on Thursday, according to Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun. It's Likely's second straight practice missed this week. He has yet to practice since having surgery to fix a fracture in his foot in late July and missed the Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. The 25-year-old has one more day to get on the practice field on Friday, but as of right now, he's looking doubtful to make his 2025 debut on Sunday in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns. Mark Andrews caught his only target for five yards on Sunday despite Baltimore putting up 40 points on offense. It doesn't make him extremely attractive in Week 2 for fantasy managers, but we'd expect him to have a bigger role if Likely misses another game, as expected.--Keith Hernandez

Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. (knee) is unlikely to suit up for Saturday's matchup against Alabama, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The senior transfer from Maryland suffered a knee sprain in last week's victory over Miami of Ohio and is being labeled as week-to-week. With Edwards facing long odds to play, Danny O'Neil is in line to start again for the Badgers. O'Neil has completed 35 of his 46 passing attempts for 403 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions in blowout wins over Miami of Ohio at Middle Tennessee State University. The San Diego State transfer entered the season as the backup to Edwards, but he'll now have a chance at shocking the college football world in Tuscaloosa this weekend.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Dallas Mavericks forward P.J. Washington signed a four-year, $90 million contract extension on Thursday. The veteran had one year remaining on his former contract. However, the extension will keep him in Dallas for the entire 2025 campaign, at the very least. Washington finished last season by averaging 14.7 points, adding 7.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks. The Mavs have one of the deepest rosters in the National Basketball Association, which was bolstered even more after the team selected Cooper Flagg in the 2025 Draft. As a result, Washington will likely have his off nights, although he's worth adding to any fantasy roster, especially if there are injuries in Dallas throughout the year.--Dennis Clausen

Texas Rangers shortstop prospect Sebastian Walcott will participate in the Arizona Fall League (AFL), one of eight players from the organization that will head to the desert. Walcott has played all season at Double-A, and at only 19 years old, he's performed admirably. The Rangers' top-ranked prospect is hitting .251 on the year, but is currently riding an eight-game hit streak and is 23-for-65 (.354) over his last 17 games. A 12.9 percent walk rate has helped him to a .353 OBP, and he's hit 13 home runs along with 32 stolen bases. The 6-foot-4 slugger should be stashed away in dynasty formats. He'll be joined by Emiliano Teodo, the 2023 AFL Reliever of the Year, who looked like he would be a slam-dunk closer for the team back then, but has had a poor season overall, which has been marred by injury, an 8.00 ERA, and almost as many walks (28) as strikeouts (31) in 27 innings pitched. So, there are some things for him to work on there, and the Rangers can see if he will be a part of their plan for the future.--Jarod Rupp

The Cincinnati Reds announced on Thursday that they reinstated rookie right-hander Chase Burns (elbow) from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-handers Lyon Richardson and Yosver Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Burns, who was the second overall pick in last year's draft out of Wake Forest, has made eight starts for the Reds in his first MLB season in 2025, but he is expected to pitch out of the bullpen to help a struggling Cincy relief corps when the team resumes play on Friday in Sacramento against the Athletics. The 22-year-old missed a month of action with a Grade 1 right flexor strain and did not go on a minor-league rehab assignment. Don't expect the Reds to use him in a ton of high-leverage spots, which means he's going to lose significant fantasy value the rest of this year. Burns had a 5.24 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with a 57:13 K:BB before his injury.--Keith Hernandez

The San Francisco 49ers will turn to quarterback Mac Jones in Week 2 as they face the New Orleans Saints, with Brock Purdy sidelined for the next two to five weeks. Jones, now in his fifth season, is tasked with keeping San Francisco on track while the team navigates key injuries. Expect the offense to continue leaning on Christian McCaffrey, while Ricky Pearsall and running back Brian Robinson Jr. provide additional support. Given the circumstances, the 49ers are likely to simplify the offense, prioritizing efficiency and ball control over explosive plays. While San Francisco's supporting cast provides Jones with enough weapons to stay competitive, fantasy managers should exercise caution before inserting him into lineups. For now, Jones profiles more as a wait-and-see option in deeper leagues.--Shaun Albin

Tennessee offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. (shoulder) is officially questionable to face Georgia on Saturday due to a shoulder injury, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The true freshman five-star recruit was forced to miss the games against Syracuse and East Tennessee State University, delaying the start to his highly anticipated collegiate career. In his absence, sophomore Shamurad Umarov has worked with the starting offensive line, while freshman Jesse Perry has worked at right tackle. On one hand, Sanders could provide a strong boost to Tennessee's offensive line and help protect quarterback Joey Aguilar. On the other hand, starting a career against Kirby Smart's Bulldog defense is a tall task. Tennessee is looking to snap an eight-game losing streak against Georgia when the two SEC rivals square off on Saturday in Knoxville.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) was once again absent from practice Thursday as he continues to deal with a knee sprain suffered in Week 1 against the Cowboys. Goedert was productive before the injury, catching all seven of his targets for 44 yards, but his Week 2 availability against the Chiefs is now in jeopardy. If Goedert is sidelined, the Eagles will likely turn to a combination of Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson. Calcaterra logged 59% of the offensive snaps in Week 1 and would be the top candidate to step in, while Granson saw action on 27% of plays. Fantasy managers should closely monitor Goedert's status, as his absence would lower the ceiling of Philadelphia's passing game.--Shaun Albin

Cleveland Guardians outfield prospect Chase DeLauter (wrist) is headed to the Arizona Fall League (AFL) this October. He'll be joined by seven other Guardians prospects, including one of the team's former top-ranked prospects, pitcher Daniel Espino. DeLauter has endured a multitude of injuries during his time in the minors, having never played in more than 57 games in any of the last three seasons, and has been on the shelf since mid-July with a wrist injury. Espino (shoulder) has had similar injury issues as well, having not been able to take the mound since early 2022. The AFL will help both players make up for lost time and help prepare for the 2026 season. Both have a chance to be in the majors next year, with DeLauter potentially able to make the team out of spring training.--Jarod Rupp

The Cincinnati Reds announced on Thursday that they reinstated right-hander Graham Ashcraft (forearm) from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-handers Lyon Richardson and Yosver Zulueta in corresponding moves. Ashcraft will return to the Reds after missing the last two weeks with a forearm strain in his right arm and will be available out of their bullpen for the weekend series in Sacramento against the Athletics. The former starter is now a full-time reliever in Cincinnati, which has sapped him of what little fantasy value he had left. Ashcraft has made 53 appearances out of the bullpen for the Reds this year and has a career-best 3.72 ERA (2.90 FIP) and 1.45 WHIP with 56 strikeouts and 24 walks in 58 innings. His strikeout rate is a career-best 22%, but his walk rate is a career-high 9.4%.--Keith Hernandez

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder) is expected to practice in some capacity on Thursday, signaling progress in his recovery from a dislocated shoulder suffered in the season opener. The injury came during a collision with teammate Travis Kelce, ending a quiet debut where the second-year wideout failed to record a catch. While surgery was initially considered, the Chiefs opted for a non-surgical route to expedite Worthy's return. Limited practice participation is a promising step, and Kansas City remains optimistic about his role moving forward. Last season, Worthy flashed his big-play potential by posting 59 receptions, 638 yards, and six touchdowns. Once fully healthy, he is expected to play a prominent role in the offense alongside Kelce and Marquise Brown.--Shaun Albin

Athletics catching prospect Daniel Susac (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday. The nature of the injury is not clear, but if he can make it a minimum stay on the IL, then he could return in time for the Pacific Coast League playoffs. The Athletics' 12th-ranked prospect is having a fine season for the Aviators, hitting .275 with an .832 OPS, 18 home runs, and even seven steals. A 26.8 percent strikeout rate is something to keep an eye on, as that likely won't get better at the major league level, and he could be there as soon as 2026.--Jarod Rupp

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is looking to bounce back in Week 2 after a disappointing opener against the Bills in which he recorded just one catch for five yards. While the box score was discouraging, the underlying usage tells a more positive story. Andrews logged 75% of Baltimore's offensive snaps and ran routes on 72% of Lamar Jackson's drop-backs, showing he remains a featured part of the passing game. Fantasy managers shouldn't overreact to the slow start, especially with a matchup against the Browns on deck. Cleveland allowed five receptions for 40 yards to Bengals tight ends in Week 1, and their aggressive pass rush led by Myles Garrett could force Lamar Jackson into more quick throws. That bodes well for Andrews' involvement.--Shaun Albin

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder/designated hitter Anthony Santander (back, shoulder) is starting his minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Buffalo after it was pushed back earlier this week, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet. Santander will serve as the DH for the first few games before playing both right and left field. It's unclear exactly when the 30-year-old might be able to finally rejoin the big-league roster, and it will depend on how he's progressing once he returns to defense in the outfield. After a big year in 2024 in which the Venezuelan switch-hitter popped a career-high 44 homers and drove in 102 runs for the Baltimore Orioles, he's been a massive bust in his first year in Toronto and has played in only 50 games due to a subluxation in his left shoulder that he suffered in May. He's dealt with back tightness recently, but he could be back soon to help Toronto's push toward the postseason.--Keith Hernandez

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula is one of eight Dodger prospects set to participate in this year's Arizona Fall League (AFL). The Dodgers' top-ranked prospect (MLB No. 12) had a strong season at High-A, where he slashed .263/.406/.421 with 12 home runs and 32 steals. Impressively, the 20-year-old walked (81) nearly as many times as he struck out (86). The performance earned him a promotion to Double-A this past Monday. The left-handed slugger will be accompanied by Kendall George, his teammate from Great Lakes, who stole 100 bases this season. The AFL season commences on October 6, and it could provide De Paula with the extra seasoning he needs in order to make a run at a big league debut next year.--Jarod Rupp

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer (forearm) will have an "extensive" bullpen session on Friday in Toronto, according to interim manager Tony Mansolino, who said that Kremer's next start will likely come sometime next week. The Orioles pulled Kremer early from his start last Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to soreness in his right forearm, but it appears that he has avoided a serious injury and should return to the team's rotation next week. The 29-year-old's next start could land against the division-rival New York Yankees, which wouldn't be the most ideal matchup for fantasy managers still playing for something in 2025. However, in his lone start versus the Yanks this year, Kremer was solid, allowing only an earned run on five hits while walking one and striking out seven in a no-decision in 5 2/3 innings.--Keith Hernandez

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals (knee) missed another practice on Thursday, putting his availability for Sunday's Super Bowl rematch with the Eagles in serious doubt. The fourth-round pick impressed throughout the preseason and was expected to carve out an early role in the Chiefs' passing attack, but lingering knee tendinitis has delayed his NFL debut. Royals' absence leaves Kansas City relying heavily on Marquise Brown, who operated as the clear No. 1 option in Week 1. Fantasy managers should view Brown as a viable low-end WR2 or strong flex play, while veterans JuJu Smith-Schuster and Travis Kelce remain key targets for Patrick Mahomes. Until Royals is healthy enough to return, Kansas City's offense will continue to funnel through its established playmakers.--Shaun Albin

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano (foot) is listed as the team's starter for Saturday's game against the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays, according to The Baltimore Sun's Matt Weyrich. Sugano was forced to leave his last start early on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth inning when he was hit by a comebacker. The good news is that he avoided any fractures in his foot and will be able to make his next turn through the rotation in another tough matchup. The 35-year-old has been inconsistent in nine starts (44 1/3 innings) since the All-Star break, posting a 4.67 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 37:13 K:BB. Sugano has struggled in his two starts against Toronto this year, too, allowing five earned runs on 12 hits with four walks and only one strikeout in 8 2/3 innings pitched. He'll be a pretty volatile streamer this weekend.--Keith Hernandez
