Commanders Not Concerned About Jayden Daniels' Wrist
Jayden Daniels (wrist) showed up on Monday's estimated injury report with a wrist issue, according to NFL.com. Daniels is fully expected to start in a Week 2 matchup on Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers. The 24-year-old second-year signal-caller wasn't asked to do too much in the easy Week 1 win over the New York Giants on Sunday, and he finished by going 19-for-30 passing for 233 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Daniels ran the football 11 times for 68 yards but was unable to find the end zone with his legs. He finished as the QB13 for the week, which is a bit disappointing, but Daniels has high-end QB1 upside each and every week, and he should be asked to do more in what could be a shootout with Green Bay on Thursday.

Trevor Lawrence Could be Much Better in Week 2
Trevor Lawrence had an encouraging first-half showing in the Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers, going 14-for-19 for 128 yards and a touchdown, but the Jags had a 20-3 lead at halftime and chose to go conservative in the second half. Lawrence finished 19-for-31 passing on the day for 178 yards, a touchdown and an interception, so overall, his day didn't look all that great against a team that had the worst defense in the league in 2024. This game also included a lengthy weather delay that could have interrupted the 25-year-old's rhythm in head coach Liam Coen's first game. While Lawrence' final stat line didn't jump off the page, he could be primed for a much better performance in a Week 2 date against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that was quite porous last year.

Geno Smith Played through Hamstring Tightness in Week 1
Geno Smith (hamstring) is expected to be fine moving forward, but coach Pete Carroll said he was dealing with some tightness last week, especially in the second half. Smith looked sharp overall, throwing for 362 passing yards and a touchdown while adding 10 rushing yards on two carries. He relied heavily on tight ends Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer, along with Jakobi Meyers, who was the clear top wide receiver after the retirement of Amari Cooper. He'll need to mix in some of the young receivers going forward as well, but Smith looks to be in a good spot, starting once again for Carroll after their years in Seattle. Smith will get an extra day to rest his hamstring as well since the Raiders host the Chargers in the second game of Week 2's Monday Night Football doubleheader.

Caleb Williams Totals 268 Total Yards, Two Touchdowns in Week 1
Caleb Williams completed 21 of 35 passes for 210 yards with one touchdown in a 27-24 loss against the Vikings. He also rushed for 58 yards on six carries with a touchdown. It was a smooth start for Williams and the new Bears offense under head coach Ben Johnson as they marched down the field for a touchdown on their opening drive. However, their offense scored only three points over their next nine drives. The run game with D'Andre Swift was largely inefficient, and Williams mostly took what the defense gave him. Williams found Rome Odunze for a touchdown right late in the fourth quarter to close the lead to three, but it was not enough. On a positive note, Williams looked very smooth and fast as a runner tonight, which is a key part of his fantasy appeal. It was a decent season debut for Williams as he builds his understanding of Johnson's offense, and he should be viewed as a low-end QB1 for fantasy purposes with his dual-threat ability.

J.J. McCarthy Struggles Early, Goes Off for Three Touchdowns in Second Half in Debut
J.J. McCarthy went 13 of 20 for 143 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, leading his team to a 27-24 win against the Bears in his NFL debut. McCarthy looked overmatched early as the Vikings' stagnant run game left him facing frequent third-and-long situations. He had just 48 total yards at the half while taking two sacks, and then threw a pick-six early in the second half to put Minnesota down 17-6. McCarthy bounced back remarkably well after his costly mistake, delivering his best play in the fourth quarter when he accounted for all three of his touchdowns. The Vikings' run game picked up on the subsequent drive and set up McCarthy for a 13-yard touchdown strike to receiver Justin Jefferson. He later hit running back Aaron Jones Sr. for a 27-yard touchdown on a wheel route on a really well-placed ball between two defenders. Finally, he showed off his athleticism and impact as a runner with a 14-yard touchdown run on a read option to essentially ice the game. There will be plenty of growing pains for the 22-year-old signal-caller, but he showed some positive signs in this game. McCarthy will be set to make his home debut next Sunday night against Atlanta.

Cardinals Encouraging More Scrambling From Kyler Murray?
Kyler Murray up the middle this year. In the 20-13 Week 1 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Murray went 21-for-29 for 163 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while running the ball seven times for 38 yards. "I did think there were some high-leverage snaps in that game where he used his legs for our advantage and that's what you want to see," head coach Jonathan Gannon said. The 28-year-old ranked eighth among QBs in 2024 with 78 carries and finished fourth with 572 yards on the ground and five touchdowns. It sounds like Arizona might prefer Murray run the ball even more in 2025, which would only raise his ceiling and floor as a weekly low-end QB1 in fantasy.

Brock Purdy Dealing With Multiple Injuries, Could Miss Week 2
Brock Purdy (shoulder, toe) is dealing with a left (non-throwing) shoulder and toe injury that "make him uncertain" to play in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said team will see how Purdy's practice week goes, but if he cannot play, backup Mac Jones would be in line to start this Sunday. In addition to Purdy's injuries, tight end George Kittle suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks that is expected to sideline him multiple weeks, while receiver Jauan Jennings also injured his shoulder. Purdy went 26-for-35 passing for 277 yards, two touchdowns and two picks in Week 1 but could now miss a juicy matchup against the Saints. If Jones is forced to start this weekend, he'd be a desperation low-end QB2 in superflex formats with limited weapons in the passing game.

Russell Wilson Remains the Giants Starter
Russell Wilson will get the start at quarterback for the New York Giants when they face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. Head coach Brian Daboll revealed on Monday that no change is imminent at the position, following a Week 1 performance that saw Wilson complete fewer than 50% of his passes at a paltry 4.5 yards per attempt. For the third season in a row, the Giants failed to score a touchdown in their season opener. New York traded up in the first round of the draft to select Ole Miss gunslinger Jaxson Dart, who will inevitably take over at some point this season. While Wilson went largely undrafted in most fantasy formats, drafters who spent an early pick on Malik Nabers will have to wait at least one more week for a change. Nabers is still an every-week start on volume alone, but the Giants' offense as a whole will need to see an increase in efficiency to return his heavy draft cost.

Joe Flacco Attempts 45 Passes, Nearly Throws for 300 Yards in Loss
Joe Flacco nearly pulled off the upset of the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals in the Week 1 regular-season opener on Sunday. In the 17-16 loss, Flacco went 31-for-45 for 290 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He was sacked twice for a loss of 12 yards and carried the ball twice for just six yards. The 40-year-old is really only useable in two-QB superflex leagues in fantasy, but the Browns offense could continue to air it out with rookie second-round running back Quinshon Judkins away from the team after an offseason legal matter that delayed his signing until just this past weekend. Flacco's lone touchdown toss of the game went to receiver Cedric Tillman in the third quarter. His options are limited, and the interceptions won't be going away.

Lamar Jackson Shines With Three Total Touchdowns in Loss to Bills
Lamar Jackson played phenomenally on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills, completing 14 of 19 passes for 209 yardsa and two passing touchdowns while adding 70 yards on the ground on six rushing attempts and a rushing touchdown. Unfortunately for the Ravens, it wasn't enough to walk away with the victory as the Bills came from behind to win 41-40 in what was an epic battle of two AFC contenders. If Derrick Henry hadn't broken off long runs all night and totaled 169 rushing yards, Jackson's evening could have been more productive. A handful of the Ravens' drives were just three or four-play drives where Henry scored on 30-plus-yard touchdown runs. Regardless, Jackson remains a high-end QB1 for fantasy managers, and those who paid a premium to get him are already reaping the rewards. Next up for Jackson is a home game against the Cleveland Browns, where he remains a top option at the QB position.

Josh Allen Totals Four Touchdowns in Win Over Ravens
Josh Allen threw on his Superman cape on Sunday night as he led the Bills to a come-from-behind win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football, leading a drive with a minute and 26 seconds on the clock to get into field-goal range to hit a walk-off field goal as time expired. Allen led the charge on Sunday in true leader fashion, going 33 of 46 for 394 yards and two passing touchdowns, while also adding 30 yards on the ground over 14 carries with two rushing touchdowns. Allen spread the wealth, targeting Keon Coleman 11 times, Khalil Shakir and Josh Palmer nine times, James Cook five times, and Dalton Kincaid four times. Essentially, Allen made every playmaker on the Bills offense a viable fantasy option. The 2024 MVP is picking up right where he left off last year, proving to everyone in a prime-time game why the Bills are serious contenders and why he won the MVP last season. He remains a high-end QB1 that fantasy managers can rely on on a week-to-week basis.

Brock Purdy Throws Two Touchdowns, Two Picks in Week 1 Win
Brock Purdy completed 26 of his 35 pass attempts for 277 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in his team's 17-13 Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Purdy's first score went to tight end George Kittle (hamstring) in the first quarter. The second went to Kittle's backup, Jake Tonges, who secured the go-ahead touchdown with less than two minutes left in the game. Purdy made extensive use of running back Christian McCaffrey (calf), targeting him 10 times, resulting in nine completions for 73 yards. Unfortunately, Purdy lost the services of both Kittle and Jauan Jennings (shoulder) during the game. Both pass-catchers will undergo MRIs to determine their availability for what could be a juicy Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Geno Smith Throws for 362 Yards in Season-Opening Victory
Geno Smith made a big impression in his first game under center for the team, a 20-13 road victory over the New England Patriots. Smith completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 362 yards, throwing a touchdown and an interception as well. The 34-year-old spread the ball around as well, completing passes to seven different Raiders receivers. If there's any bad news for Smith coming out of Sunday, it's that star tight end Brock Bowers (knee) left the game in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. Smith's fantasy outlook for his Week 2 matchup at home against the Los Angeles Chargers would be improved if Bowers can play.

Kyler Murray Throws for Two Touchdowns, Rushes Seven Times in Season Opener
Kyler Murray did not have his most efficient game in Week 1, but he was able to do enough to lead his team to a 20-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Murray was 21 of 29 for 163 yards and two touchdowns as a passer and added 38 yards on seven rush attempts. The seven rush attempts could be considered a positive sign for fantasy managers hoping Murray would use his legs more in 2025. Murray rushed more than seven times in a single game just once in 2024. The 28-year-old profiles as a low-end fantasy QB1 and has a favorable matchup next week at home against the Carolina Panthers.

Jayden Daniels Runs for 68 Yards on Top of Solid Passing Performance
Jayden Daniels completed 19 of his 30 pass attempts for 233 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 1 win over the New York Giants. He also rushed for 68 yards on 11 attempts. While Daniels only had the one touchdown, it was still a solid day for him in terms of rushing production and playing turnover-free football. Last year's No. 2 pick opened the 2025 season on an impressive note, but his competition will get tougher next week when he faces the Green Bay Packers, led by newcomer Micah Parsons. Green Bay's defense just held Detroit to 13 points, of which seven came during garbage time. Daniels still ranks as a mid-range QB1 thanks to his rushing ability.
