Joe Burrow and the Offense Looking to Turn it Around Versus Jacksonville
Joe Burrow didn't play well in the AFC North showdown with the Browns. The signal-caller would go on to finish with only 113 yards and one touchdown off 14-for-23 (60.9%) passing while adding three yards off two carries. Despite the underwhelming performance, the Bengals managed to pull off the win. Without question, his subpar showing in Week 1 left a sour taste in the mouths of fantasy managers. Heading into Week 2, Burrow and the rest of the offense will look to get it together. The 2020 No. 1 overall pick has had success versus the Jags during his career (two meetings), tossing for a combined 648 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Granted, his previous accomplishments against Jacksonville doesn't necessarily mean he'll match the same level of production. However, with this one expected to be the highest-scoring contest on the slate, both quarterbacks may be throwing until the end, meaning Burrow could play better this time around. Keep him starting in all fantasy setups.

Drake Maye Has Big Upside Against Struggling Defense
Drake Maye has top-12 fantasy upside heading into Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Maye was solid with 287 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the season opener last week, but he has the potential to take a bigger leap this weekend given the Dolphins' struggling defense. Miami was decimated by Daniel Jones last weekend, as the Indianapolis Colts quarterback finished with 272 passing yards, 26 rushing yards, and three touchdowns. Even if Maye doesn't quite match Jones' stat line, there's still a strong chance he finishes as a QB1 this Sunday.

Kyler Murray Holds QB1 Value Again in Week 2
Kyler Murray finished just outside of QB1 territory in Week 1 after throwing two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints. His accuracy looked good most of the time, but the passing attack didn't gain many yards (163), and he was sacked five times. Fortunately, for Murray and company, the Carolina Panthers gave up 378 total yards and didn't register a single sack against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. With the Panthers' run defense especially looking horrendous, Murray gains even more value given the report that the team has tried to scheme more scrambling opportunities. Fantasy managers can look to Murray as a QB1 heading into Week 2, hoping that he gains even more chemistry with Marvin Harrison Jr.

Bo Nix Looks to Rebound Facing Indianapolis
Bo Nix is looking to bounce back after a disappointing Week 1 performance. Despite picking up the victory against the Tennessee Titans, the entire passing offense was unable to find its footing. In this contest, the former first-round pick went 25-for-40 with 176 passing yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. On the ground, Nix added 18 yards on eight carries. His lone touchdown went to his top wideout, Courtland Sutton, on a 22-yard strike. Despite his underwhelming performance, managers should view Nix as a solid low-end QB1 heading into Week 2. During the final seven games of the 2024 regular season, Nix emerged as a must-start fantasy option, as he averaged 25.8 PPR points per game. Despite facing the Colts, who shut down the Miami offense in Week 1, given his rushing ability, Nix carries solid low-end QB1 upside heading into Week 2.

Patrick Mahomes Primed For Super Bowl Rematch
Patrick Mahomes will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2 for a Super Bowl rematch. The last time these two teams matched up, the Eagles ended up taking home the Lombardi trophy. Jalen Hurts and the gang are coming off a Thursday night win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1, while the Chiefs suffered a one-possession loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday. The 29-year-old had a decent performance against the Chargers, passing for 258 yards and a touchdown while adding 57 yards and a score on the ground. That said, Mahomes will have the odds stacked against him on Sunday, facing one of the best defenses in the league without two of his top offensive weapons. Rashee Rice is still serving his suspension, and Xavier Worthy is listed as doubtful for the upcoming matchup. Despite playing at Arrowhead this weekend, Mahomes and the Chiefs are home underdogs against the Eagles. The Chiefs quarterback is ranked QB11 in our RotoBaller rankings this week, making him a fringe-QB1.

Jaxson Dart is the Second-Stringer and is Ready to Play
Jaxson Dart is not a recommended fantasy option for Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys, as he is not expected to play. Although the rookie first-round draft pick has impressed in the preseason and is the team's QB2, head coach Brian Daboll has publicly stated that Russell Wilson will remain the starter for Sunday's game. There is some speculation that Dart could see action if Wilson struggles, but given that he has no regular-season statistics for 2025, his fantasy outlook is entirely dependent on an in-game change. Therefore, Dart should be left on the bench or waiver wire for this matchup.

Russell Wilson Looks To Bounce Back Against the Cowboys
Russell Wilson had a tough Week 1, but he has an encouraging fantasy outlook heading into his Week 2 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Wilson was the QB23 in fantasy after mustering only 12.8 fantasy points against the Commanders, throwing for 168 yards and zero touchdowns. However, the Cowboys' defense allowed 24.4 fantasy points to Jalen Hurts in Week 1 and was the 32nd-ranked fantasy defense against quarterbacks last year, giving up 19.6 fantasy points per game. Wilson's 44 rushing yards in the opener, combined with the Cowboys allowing 62 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to Hurts, suggest he has a solid floor and a potential for a major bounce-back performance in this favorable matchup.

Spencer Rattler's Inefficiency Limits Fantasy Appeal in Week 2
Spencer Rattler went 27-of-46 for 214 yards with no touchdowns in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, adding 29 rushing yards on four attempts. Despite the volume, his 4.7 yards per pass attempt was inefficient, and the 46 throws marked a career high. He faces a tough matchup at home against the San Francisco 49ers, who allowed just 150 passing yards to Sam Darnold and the Seahawks in Week 1. Rattler remains off fantasy radars for Week 2 and will need a more efficient showing to keep his starting role.

Michael Penix Jr. a Solid QB2 Option Against Banged-Up Vikings Defense
Michael Penix Jr. performed well in Week 1, completing 27 of 42 passes for 298 yards and a touchdown without throwing an interception, while also adding six rushes for 21 yards and a score. In Week 2, he'll have a road matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, who were tough against the run last season, allowing the second-fewest rush yards per game (93.2), and who only allowed 61 rush yards to non-quarterbacks in Week 1. It likely means the Falcons will lean on the pass again in this matchup, and the 25-year-old will have a full complement of receivers as Drake London (shoulder) and Darnell Mooney (shoulder) were both full participants in practice on Friday. The Vikings defense will be without a couple of pieces on Sunday, namely Andrew Van Ginkel (concussion), who nearly led the team in sacks in 2024 with 11.5, so the former first-round draft pick shapes up as a mid-range QB2 this week whose arrow is pointing up.

Jalen Hurts Could Be Positioned For Big Week Against Chiefs
Jalen Hurts looks to speed past another defense this week as he faces the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Hurts led his team on the ground last week, racking up 62 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 14 attempts. He also broke the Super Bowl record for most rushing yards by a QB against Kansas City back in February. Last week, the Chiefs let Justin Herbert do basically whatever he wanted, as he threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns in a Chargers win. All signs point to Hurts being poised for a big game on Sunday, especially in what could turn into a high-scoring, revenge-fueled matchup. He remains a top option at his position in fantasy for Week 2.

Keenan Allen Ready to Rock on Monday Night
Keenan Allen had seven catches for 68 yards in the Week 1 win over the Chiefs. While he wasn't as productive as Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, the veteran wideout had a team-high 10 targets while finding the end zone in the third quarter off of an 11-yard throw from Justin Herbert. With a win in the books, Los Angeles will face Las Vegas in Week 2 in another AFC West showdown. Geno Smith played well in the win over the Patriots. However, the defense still struggled at times, especially defending the pass. Not much is expected to change on that front on Monday night. It's apparent Allen and Herbert still have strong on-field chemistry. With that in mind, the 33-year-old appears to have some gas left in the tank, making him worthy of a spot in all fantasy lineups in Week 2.

Mac Jones Ready for a Favorable Matchup in Week 2
Mac Jones will get the start in Sunday's meeting with the Saints. With Brock Purdy (toe) out for the foreseeable future, the 49ers will now turn to Jones, who hasn't exactly had the best track record since entering the league in 2021. San Francisco will also be without George Kittle (hamstring). That may also be the case for Jauan Jennings (shoulder), who is listed as questionable. However, Christian McCaffrey is in the mix, which certainly helps take some pressure off of the signal-caller. Jones, who has thrown for 10,590 yards, 54 touchdowns, and 44 interceptions throughout his career, reportedly looked good during training camp. All things considered, Jones has a favorable matchup in Week 2 versus New Orleans, so he deserves consideration in SuperFlex formats. The 27-year-old should also see interest from DFS managers due to his rostering cost.

"Dual Threat" Caleb Williams Has Fantasy Appeal Against Lions
Caleb Williams is coming off a strong fantasy performance, completing 21 of 35 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown while adding six carries for 58 yards and another score on the ground. Despite Chicago's tough loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Williams showcased his dual-threat ability and the kind of upside that can make him a valuable fantasy asset. In Week 2, Williams draws the Detroit Lions, a defense he thrived against in 2024, averaging 24 fantasy points across two meetings. With head coach Ben Johnson making his return to Detroit, the atmosphere at Ford Field will be intense, but Williams' rushing floor keeps him in play. Consider him a high-end QB2 this week and a must-start in Superflex formats.

Lamar Jackson Sets Sights on First Divisional Matchup
Lamar Jackson is leading the team into their first divisional matchup with the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 after a devastating loss to the Buffalo Bills. Even though Jackson turned in a great performance, the team gave up 22 points in the fourth quarter to eventually lose by one. The Browns don't present nearly the same level of talent on offense, but they do have one of the more tantalizing defensive units. Last year, Jackson's second-worst completion percentage was against the Browns at 55.71% in two games. With that being said, he still amassed 506 yards and four touchdowns through the air with 109 yards on 17 carries. This is also his first home game of the year, which gives another reason for Jackson and company to be amped up for this matchup.

Joe Flacco a QB3 in Week 2 Vs. Ravens
Joe Flacco will head on the road to take on his former team, the Baltimore Ravens, in Week 2. Flacco, who spent the first 11 years of his career with the Ravens, was busy in a Week 1 loss as he dropped back to pass 45 times in a one-point loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. While he only threw one touchdown last week, the Browns' pass-heavy approach to begin the season could lead to fantasy production for the veteran quarterback. Stopping opposing passing attacks has been a defensive liability for the Ravens over the past few years, giving Flacco a good shot at posting a productive game. That being said, he still settles in as a mid-range QB3 in fantasy with no teams on bye in Week 2.
