Sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz that several teams that are picking in the high 30s and 40s are calling the Cleveland Browns (No. 33 overall), Houston Texans (No. 34) and Tennessee Titans (No. 35) about potential trades to try and come up early into the second round of this year's NFL draft on Friday. Wide receiver and edge rusher are viewed as two positions as having big drop-offs in talent and a wide range of evaluations, which is why those two positions are expected to be targeted by teams early in the second round. NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah thinks that Iowa State receivers
Jayden Higgins and
Jaylin Noel and Missouri wideout
Luther Burden III could come off the board early on Friday, as well as edge rushers such as Marshall's Mike Green, Boston College's Donovan Ezeiruaku and Arkansas' Landon Jackson.

NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reports that the Cleveland Browns are fielding calls for the first pick of Round 2 on Friday night at No. 33 overall. The Browns already agreed to a blockbuster trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars at the top of the first round on Thursday that moved them from the No. 2 pick to No. 5, where they selected Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham. Cleveland has more reason to trade back in the second round after acquiring the No. 36 overall pick from the Jaguars on Thursday. If the Browns stay put with the first pick in the second round, it's possible they could take Colorado quarterback
Shedeur Sanders after he fell out of the first round entirely. Cleveland is one of the most QB-needy team with
Deshaun Watson (Achilles) expected to miss all of 2025 and with only
Joe Flacco and
Kenny Pickett their current healthy options.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero says that the Jacksonville Jaguars plan to have rookie two-way star
Travis Hunter start out in their wide receivers room, but they also plan to have him meet with the defensive backs and practice on the defensive side of the ball. Jacksonville pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns (that included a first-round pick in 2026) to move up to second overall on Thursday night to take the 21-year-old Heisman Trophy winner. The Jags are looking to make a splash under first-year general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen, and Hunter should help them do that. First and foremost, they want Hunter to work on offense as they look to help quarterback
Trevor Lawrence rebound from a disappointing and injury-plagued 2024. It's unclear how big of a role Hunter will have on offense initially, but this is an early good sign for his rookie fantasy value.

The Detroit Lions exercised defensive end Aidan Hutchinson's (leg) fifth-year option for the 2026 season on Friday, a source told ESPN's Field Yates. This was the expected move, even though Hutchinson only played in five games in 2024 in his third year in the league due to a fractured tibia and fibula in his left leg. The 24-year-old was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2023 and finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting back in 2022. Hutchinson has proven to be one of the best young pass-rushers in the NFL and has recorded 28.5 sacks in his first 39 starts for the Lions. He posted a video of himself sprinting at the team's facilities back in February, so barring a setback this offseason, he should be ready to go for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season this fall. If Hutchinson is all systems go, he should be one of the first defensive linemen off the board in IDP fantasy drafts.

The New York Giants are planning on picking up defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux's fifth-year option for the 2026 season, according to general manager Joe Schoen. "Kayvon is going to be here. You can't have enough pass rushers," Schoen said. The 24-year-old former fifth overall pick in 2022 out of Oregon missed five games last year due to a wrist injury and finished with a career-low 28 tackles (14 solo), 5.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, 17 QB hits and a forced fumbles in 12 starts for the G-Men. Although production-wise he took a step back in 2024 in his third NFL seasons, Thibodeaux is expected to be a key member of the team's pass rush again in 2025, and the Giants gave him a lot of help by taking Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter third overall in the first round of this year's draft on Thursday. In addition to Thibodeaux and Carter, the Giants have Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence who can get after the passer.

The Philadelphia Eagles swapped late first-round picks with the Kansas City Chiefs and selected Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. If not for shoulder injuries -- he had surgery to fix a torn labrum in March -- Campbell might have been a top-15 pick in this year's draft. The 21-year-old 6-foot-3, 235-pounder was still a first-team All-SEC selection in 2024 after he led the Crimson Tide with 117 tackles (11.5 for loss) and five sacks. He was also tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and started all 13 games. Campbell is expected to be ready to roll for training camp this summer, at which point the Eagles will try to figure out where he'll fit best in their already strong defense. He has elite traits and physical talent and could be best utilized as a 3-4 rush linebacker.

The Buffalo Bills selected Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. Hairston is a speedy coverage cornerback deep down the field that is projected to develop into a plus starter eventually. The 5-foot-11, 183-pounder missed five games in 2024 with a shoulder injury and started seven games, totaling 19 tackles, a sack, an interception returned for a touchdown, four pass breakups and two forced fumbles. The 21-year-old stands out for his 4.28-second 40-yard dash speed, but his tackling abilities are questionable, and he could be suspect to more injuries at the NFL level while having to match up with big, physical receivers down the field. Early on in his NFL debut in 2025, Hairston probably won't play regularly, but he'll give Buffalo a speedy cover man to match up with burners on offense.

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded the 31st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the 32nd and 164th overall picks. After losing some key defensive players in free agency, the Eagles moved up a spot in the draft to select Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell at pick 31.

The Detroit Lions selected Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. Detroit opted to bolster the interior of their defensive line with their first-round pick this year with Williams, who stands at 6-foot-3, 334 pounds. The 22-year-old was a third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2024 after starting 13 games for the national champions. He recorded 46 tackles (eight for loss) and 2.5 sacks while missing three games due to injury. Williams had impressive tackle production as a run-clogger up the middle thanks to his nimble feet. He has the ability to dominant man-to-man matchups with offensive guards but will need to work on his hands at the next level with the Lions. The former Buckeye probably won't be a big sack guy, at least initially, which makes him a long shot to be worth a look in IDP fantasy formats in 2025.

The Baltimore Ravens selected Georgia defensive back Malaki Starks with the No. 27 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. Starks will play center field at the safety position for Baltimore, a big position of need for the Ravens entering this year's draft. He has a very high football character and IQ and was named as a second-team All SEC player while leading the Bulldogs with 77 tackles and started all 14 games in 2024. Starks was a three-year starter for Georgia and plenty of size, athleticism, speed and ball skills to excel right away next to Kyle Hamilton in Baltimore's secondary. He doesn't play much near the line of scrimmage, but Starks should be a starter for the Ravens sooner than later. Starks has played much better in zone defense than when he's asked to cover receivers in man-to-man coverage.

The Los Angeles Rams have traded the No. 26 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for the 46th pick, 242nd pick, and a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Rams also moved the 101st overall pick in the deal. With the third trade of the night, the Falcons moved up to select Tennessee defensive end James Pearce Jr.

The Atlanta Falcons traded up with the Los Angeles Rams and selected Tennessee edge rusher James Pearce Jr. with the No. 26 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. The Falcons took Georgia edge rusher Jalon Walker with their first pick in the first round at No. 15. It's not a surprise that the Falcons loaded up on the defensive line early in this draft given how lacking they were in the pass-rush department in 2024. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound Pearce is explosive off the ball with good speed and power, but he wasn't all that consistent with the Volunteers at the collegiate level. The young pass-rusher was a first-team All SEC selection last year and led Tennessee with 13 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks while playing in all 13 games (nine starts). Pearce's weakness is that he lacks bend, and he'll need to improve his technique as a run defender. But in terms of need, the Falcons hit on both of their first-round picks.

The Houston Texans have traded the No. 25 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the New York Giants in exchange for the 34th pick, 99th pick, and a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. In the second blockbuster move of the night, the Giants moved up in the first round to take Ole Miss quarterback
Jaxson Dart.

The Cleveland Browns selected Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. Cleveland came into Thursday evening with the No. 2 overall pick, but they completed a blockbuster deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars to move down to No. 5. Graham is a two-time All-American from Los Angeles and was also a star wrestler in high school. The 21-year-old is versatile and disruptive, although his numbers didn't exactly stand out at the collegiate level. Graham has the ability to make tackles everywhere and has strong hands at the point of contact. The Browns will now try to school him up as a pure pass-rusher to help out Myles Garrett on the outside. If Graham develops into more of a pure pass-rusher, Cleveland will be very satisfied with his pick after dropping back several spots for more draft capital.

The New York Giants selected Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night. Carter was hands down the best defensive prospect in this year's draft class and was a unanimous All-American selection. He lived in opponent's backfield and led FBS with 23.5 tackles for loss in 2024. Carter will combine with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns for the Giants to boost their pass rush moving forward in a division that includes the reigning Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles. Carter has an amazing first step off the line as he rushes the passer and has a high motor. Despite dealing with several injuries during the pre-draft process -- he didn't require surgery for his foot -- the 21-year-old didn't fall outside of the top five picks this year. Carter could make the kind of immediate impact that Micah Parsons did in Dallas.
