New York Islanders left wing Jonathan Drouin (illness) rejoined practice on Sunday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Due to an illness, Drouin sat out three practice sessions and didn't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Philadelphia Flyers. Drouin worked with Bo Horvat and Emil Heineman on the first line. The Islanders signed Drouin to a two-year, $8 million contract during the offseason and clearly see him playing a major role on the team. The 30-year-old missed nearly half of last season's games because of health issues but was productive when he was available, recording 37 points (11 goals, 26 assists) in 43 games with the Colorado Avalanche.--Taavi Pailk
