The Detroit Lions exercised defensive end Aidan Hutchinson's (leg) fifth-year option for the 2026 season on Friday, a source told ESPN's Field Yates. This was the expected move, even though Hutchinson only played in five games in 2024 in his third year in the league due to a fractured tibia and fibula in his left leg. The 24-year-old was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2023 and finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting back in 2022. Hutchinson has proven to be one of the best young pass-rushers in the NFL and has recorded 28.5 sacks in his first 39 starts for the Lions. He posted a video of himself sprinting at the team's facilities back in February, so barring a setback this offseason, he should be ready to go for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season this fall. If Hutchinson is all systems go, he should be one of the first defensive linemen off the board in IDP fantasy drafts.--Keith Hernandez
