Cowboys Sign Parris Campbell to Practice Squad
Parris Campbell to their practice squad, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Campbell, a former second-round pick, has battled through multiple significant foot and knee injuries throughout his six-year career, limiting him to 1,117 receiving yards and six touchdowns across 49 games. The Cowboys are dealing with injuries at wide receiver, most notably losing CeeDee Lamb for the next few weeks and Jonathan Mingo, who was placed on injured reserve prior to the season. Campbell could be elevated from the practice squad as soon as this week, but with the Cowboys' deep receiver group, he carries little to no fantasy value at this time.

Victor Wembanyama Cleared for Spurs Training Camp
Victor Wembanyama to participate in training camp with no restrictions following his diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder last season. Wembanyama averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, and 1.1 steals in 46 contests before the condition ended his season abruptly in February. Now, with a clean bill of health, the 21-year-old superstar is going to be a significant fantasy contributor across all formats during the upcoming campaign.

LeBron James Held Out of Practice on Tuesday
LeBron James (pinched nerve) was held out of Tuesday's practice due to nerve irritation in his glute. James joined Marcus Smart (Achilles), rookie Adou Thiero (knee) and Gabe Vincent (knee) on the sideline. While the 40-year-old's setback is considered minor, the Lakers are expected to proceed cautiously. James averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.0 steals over 70 outings last season and remains a reliable fantasy asset across all formats going into his NBA 23rd campaign.

Jarace Walker Back to Form After Recovering From Ankle Injury
Jarace Walker (ankle) focused on conditioning this offseason after suffering an ankle injury during last season's Eastern Conference Finals. In 2024-25, the 22-year-old averaged 6.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 15.8 minutes per contest across 75 appearances. Fantasy managers should expect the Pacers frontcourt to lean on Walker during the upcoming campaign after Myles Turner signed with Milwaukee in July.

Ricky Pearsall Still Sidelined with Knee Injury on Tuesday
Ricky Pearsall (knee) was unable to practice on Tuesday due to a knee injury. This was his second straight day sitting out in practice. Fantasy managers should closely monitor his status on Wednesday as he appears to be in danger of missing their contest on Thursday evening against the Los Angeles Rams. Pearsall suffered this injury during their Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before exiting, the second-year wideout caught four of his five targets for 46 yards. During the first three games of the season, Pearsall was very productive, tallying 281 yards on 16 receptions (24 targets). With Jauan Jennings (ankle/rib) also in danger of missing this contest, the 49ers could turn to Demarcus Robinson and Kendrick Bourne to operate as the team's top wideouts.

Jauan Jennings Not Practicing On Tuesday
Jauan Jennings (ankle/ribs) remained a non-participant during their practice session on Tuesday afternoon. This was Jennings' second-straight non-participation, and he is now in danger of missing their contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday evening. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status on Wednesday, as it could provide clarity on his availability. The 28-year-old was unable to play in Week 3 due to this ankle injury, but was able to suit up in Week 4. However, he left this game with an additional rib injury. In this contest, Jennings was relatively quiet, catching only two passes for 24 yards. However, in Week 2, he caught five passes for 89 yards and a score. With Ricky Pearsall (knee) also in danger of sitting out, Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson could lead the passing attack on Thursday evening.

Brock Purdy Remains Sidelined During Tuesday's Practice
Brock Purdy (toe) will remain sidelined during Tuesday's practice session. Purdy was a non-participant on Monday and is now in danger of missing their contest on Thursday against the Los Angeles Rams. While Purdy missed Weeks 2 and 3 due to this toe injury, he was able to return to action in Week 4, but is dealing with setbacks. In Week 4, Purdy went 22-for-38 with 309 passing yards and a 2:2 TD:INT during their loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Purdy were to remain sidelined on Wednesday, he would likely cede starting duties on Thursday evening to Mac Jones. Jones started in each of his two games he missed and averaged a solid 22.4 PPR points per game during this stretch. He would carry high-end QB2 value facing the Rams on Thursday night.

Luis Gil Left Off Yankees Wild-Card Roster After Shortened Season
Luis Gil was left off the Wild Card roster despite a strong showing in limited action this year. The 27-year-old posted a 3.32 ERA, a 1.40 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts across 11 starts. Gil, the 2024 AL Rookie of the Year, was edged out by Carlos Rodon and Cam Schlittler for Wild Card spots. His late return from a right lat strain, which delayed his season debut until August 3, left little time to build on his case.

Gavin Williams Shines in Postseason Start Despite Guardians' Loss
Gavin Williams was one of the lone bright spots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the 2025 Wild Card Series. Making his second career postseason start, the 26-year-old struck out eight and allowed only two unearned runs on five hits and one walk. Williams showed poise and command on the mound, keeping Cleveland within reach despite limited offensive support. While he was tagged with the loss, his performance proved he can handle the October stage.

Tarik Skubal Shines in Postseason Debut, Tigers Take Game 1 Over Guardians
Tarik Skubal delivered a masterful performance to open the 2025 postseason, leading his team to a 2-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. The 28-year-old went 7 ⅔ innings, striking out 14 while giving up just one run on three hits and three walks. Detroit's offense provided just enough support to secure the narrow victory and give the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three Wild Card Series. Skubal carried his dominant 2.21 ERA from the regular season into October and looks every bit like the frontrunner for the 2025 AL Cy Young Award.

Darnell Washington to Operate as TE1 in Pittsburgh?
Darnell Washington snagged all three of his targets for 20 yards in a 24-21 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The third-year pro was held without a catch through his first three games this season but emerged as the most productive tight end on the team in Week 4. In addition to his fantasy output, Washington saw the field for 48 of a possible 53 snaps, far exceeding the snap shares of Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith. At 6'7", Washington is incredibly effective as a blocker, and his utilization resulted in a successful day on the ground for running back Kenneth Gainwell. While Washington isn't likely to earn a significant role as a pass-catcher, it was promising to see him get on the same page as quarterback Aaron Rodgers last week. He remains off the fantasy radar for now, but Washington will be a name to monitor when Pittsburgh returns from its Week 5 bye.

Chris Bassitt Nearing Return, Could Factor Into Blue Jays ALDS Rotation
Chris Bassitt (back) has begun throwing off a mound and is on track to return in time for a potential American League Division Series appearance. The official roster has not been announced as the team finalizes its rotation, but the 36-year-old is expected to be available in some capacity. Bassitt has been sidelined since September 19 with lower back inflammation and is currently on the 15-day injured list. The veteran has made three career postseason starts with the New York Mets and Oakland Athletics, posting a 4.20 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. His return would give Toronto a steady, experienced arm for October, should they need him.

Will Smith Returns to Dodgers Roster for Wild-Card Series
Will Smith (hand) on the wild-card roster ahead of the upcoming series against the Cincinnati Reds. Smith has not played since September 9 after landing on the 10-day injured list with a fracture in his right hand. The veteran catcher will only be available for pinch-hitting duties as he works his way back into game shape. Before the injury, Smith was one of the Dodgers' most consistent offensive producers, slashing .296/.404/.497 with a .901 OPS across 110 games. His presence, even in a limited role, gives Los Angeles a dangerous late-game bat.

Jason Sanders to Remain Sidelined Through Week 5
Jason Sanders (hip) is expected to remain on the injured reserve this weekend when the Dolphins face the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, despite being eligible to return. Their top kicker has been on the IR since the beginning of the campaign due to a hip injury. However, David Furones of The Sun Sentinel noted that Sanders is "approaching" his return. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Riley Patterson to remain the starting kicker this weekend. Last season, Sanders posted a strong 90.2% FG%, going 37-41 on attempts and 12-for-14 on 50+ yard attempts. Patterson has gone 4-for-4 on attempts and 9-for-9 on extra points this season. Given that he has yet to tally double-digit fantasy points in a single game this season, he carries low-end streaming upside in Week 5.

Jonnu Smith's Role in Jeopardy Following Decrease in Snaps?
Jonnu Smith has been quiet for fantasy purposes since his debut with the team in which he earned six targets and scored a touchdown. Still, he played on more than 50% of offensive snaps in each of his first three games, with a season-high 83% snap share in Week 3. In Week 4, Smith was relegated to just 13 snaps, 25% of the Steelers' total, while Darnell Washington, Connor Heyward, and Pat Freiermuth all played ahead of him. Smith was limited in practice last week with a hip injury, which could explain his limited usage in Sunday's win against the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland. He will likely see more playing time when the Steelers return from a Week 5 bye, but it will be difficult to trust Smith if Washington continues to have a role in the offense after playing 48-of-53 snaps last week. The 30-year-old can be dropped or left on waivers in most redraft formats.

Cooper Rush Trending Toward Week 5 Start
Lamar Jackson (hamstring) expected to miss Sunday's contest against the Houston Texans, the Ravens will likely turn to Cooper Rush to serve as the QB1. Rush replaced Jackson during the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend. The former Cowoby went 9-for-13 with 52 passing yards and no scores or interceptions. Last season, Rush served as the QB1 in Dallas for nearly half the season with Dak Prescott sidelined. Through Weeks 9 through 17, Rush averaged 15.5 PPR points per game and held a solid 12:4 TD:INT. During this stretch, he averaged 1991. passing yards per game. Given his tough matchup this weekend against the Texans, who have allowed the fewest PPR points to opposing QBs, managers should only look to start Rush in deeper 14+ superflex formats.

Calvin Austin III Worth Holding Through Week 5 Bye?
Calvin Austin III (shoulder) managed just two receptions for 13 yards in a Week 4 victory over the Minnesota Vikings before exiting with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter. Austin was evaluated at a hospital in Dublin, Ireland before heading home for a Week 5 bye. There have been conflicting reports regarding the severity of Austin's injury, but the consensus seems to be that he will miss some time. The 26-year-old had been operating as Pittsburgh's WR2 behind DK Metcalf and displayed encouraging signs of chemistry with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. There is potential for Austin to become a fantasy contributor later in the season, but it's difficult to justify stashing him through the team's bye in most redraft leagues, especially if he can't be moved to an IR spot.

Dillon Gabriel Expected to Start in Week 5
Dillon Gabriel to lead the offense in their Week 5 tilt against the Minnesota Vikings. Throughout the first four games of the season, the Browns have given QB1 duties to veteran Joe Flacco. However, Flacco has struggled in this role, winning just one game and averaging a modest 203.8 passing yards per game. During their Week 4 loss to the Lions, Flacco threw two interceptions and totaled just 184 passing yards. Gabriel has seen limited action through the first four games, only entering in the final frames. In Week 2, Gabriel went 3-for-3 with 19 yards and a score against the Ravens, but could not complete his lone passing attempt in Week 4. The Browns selected Gabriel in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Oregon. Last season, Gabriel led the Ducks to a 13-1 record and was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. He is worth a look in all superflex formats as a mid-end QB2 ahead of his first start.

Walker Kessler Frustrated by Extension Talks
Walker Kessler expressed frustration at the team's media day over his contract situation. Earlier reports indicated that the Jazz will not extend the center before the Oct. 20 deadline for fourth-year players. Kessler said he didn't want to talk about the issue after training camp started, but added "that being said, I'm definitely a little frustrated." If Kessler does not sign an extension before the October deadline, he would become a restricted free agent after the season, giving any team the chance to offer him a new contract, with the Jazz retaining matching rights on any deal. Kessler has put up big numbers when healthy and drawn plenty of trade interest, most notably from the Lakers. If he stays in Utah, he could be a big piece to build around for the Jazz, or they could look to turn him into more assets at the trade deadline this season.

Malachi Corley Set to Join Browns Active Roster
Malachi Corley is set to join the Browns' active roster in a corresponding move that shifted Cedric Tillman (hamstring) to the injured reserve. Corley was signed to the Cleveland practice squad shortly before the regular season. In 2024, Corley was drafted in the third round (65th overall) by the New York Jets but was never able to carve out a prominent role in their offense. As a rookie, Corley caught just three of his six targets for 16 yards. He added 26 yards on two rushing attempts. Fantasy managers in deeper dynasty formats should monitor his status as he could be given opportunities in the Cleveland offense if Tillman were to miss a significant portion of the season. For now, Jerry Jeudy and rookie Isaiah Bond figure to serve as the team's top wide receivers.

Robert Williams III Not Sure When He'll Be Ready
Robert Williams III (knee) has not been fully cleared to play after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure to address inflammation in his left knee last March. The original timeline was just four to six weeks, but Williams has taken longer than expected to recover. He said at Blazers' media day, ""Injuries are tough. They aren't easy for anyone. But as soon as I'm on the court moving and feeling like my old self, it goes away." He said that he and the team trainers have a target date, but declined to say exactly when that date is. He'll be important backcourt depth for Portland when healthy, and he showed last season that he can contribute meaningful numbers across the box score when available.

Cedric Tillman Placed on Injured Reserve
Cedric Tillman (hamstring) on the injured reserve. The former third-round pick suffered this injury during their loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon. As a result, Tillman will miss at least the next four games. In a corresponding move, the Browns signed wide receivers Malachi Corley and Gage Larvadain to the active roster. Through four games, Tillman operated as a starting option in the passing attack and caught 11 passes for 106 yards and two scores. However, with Tillman slated to miss time, fantasy managers should expect veteran Jerry Jeudy to take the lead role in the offense, while rookie Isaiah Bond is expected to see a larger target share.

Jerami Grant Doesn't See Himself Coming Off the Bench
Jerami Grant expects to be in the starting lineup this season and said, "I don't really expect that" when asked how he felt about coming off the bench at Blazers' media day. Grant was limited to 47 games for the Blazers, and he started every one of them. He averaged 14.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game in his 32.4 minutes per contest, remaining very productive even after 11 seasons in the Association. He has not come off the bench in any of his three years with Portland, starting 118 of his 118 games over those three seasons. With Jrue Holiday and Donovan Clingan likely locked into two starting spots, there are three spots for Grant, Toumani Camara, Deni Avdija, and Shaedon Sharpe. If everyone is healthy, Portland could have a crowded early-season rotation, which will be important to figure out for fantasy value on the new-look roster.

Cedrick Wilson Jr. Returning to Miami
Cedrick Wilson Jr. from the New Orleans Saints' practice squad. The 29-year-old wideout spent two seasons in Miami (2022 and 2023) before moving to New Orleans for the 2024 campaign. This move comes after top wide receiver Tyreek Hill (knee) suffered a season-ending knee injury during their victory over the Jets on Monday evening. In 2024, Wilson caught 20 passes for 211 yards with the Saints. With the Dolphins, Wilson totaled 432 total yards across two seasons and operated in a depth role. However, with Hlll sidelined, Wilson could eventually carve out a more prominent role in the passing attack. However, for the time being, fantasy managers should expect Jalyen Waddle to serve as the team's clear WR1.

Stefon Diggs Ramping Up Workload
Stefon Diggs was on the field for 31 out of 49 offensive snaps in Sunday's blowout win over the Panthers. His 69% snap share was the highest of the season, resulting in his best game as a Patriot. Diggs caught six of his team-leading seven targets for 101 yards. Considering Drake Maye only threw 17 passes on the day, Diggs accounted for over 40% of the team's target share. Still less than a year removed from surgery to repair his torn ACL, Diggs could soon become a weekly play, rewarding fantasy managers who were able to hold onto him through a slow start to the season.

Brashard Smith Could See Increased Workload
Brashard Smith could be in line for additional touches. A day after Sunday's win over the Ravens, head coach Andy Reid told reporters that offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is trying to increase Smith's reps each week while putting him in a position to succeed. A converted wide receiver, Smith's ability to make plays in space was on display Sunday, as he averaged 10 yards after the catch on his three receptions. With neither Isiah Pacheco nor Kareem Hunt doing much to capitalize on what has been a near 50/50 split through four weeks, Smith could easily see his snap share increase. Having seemingly earned his coaches' trust, his big-play ability could make him flex-worthy in a pinch, especially if the staff goes out of its way to design plays for his unique skillset.

Darius Garland Unsure When He'll Be Able To Play
Darius Garland (toe) underwent surgery in June to repair the turf toe injury, which limited him in the playoffs. At Cavaliers' media day, Garland said that he has been back on the court working out for a month, and that "Everything's been looking great, the doctors have been saying everything's been looking great, so I'm happy where I'm at right now." Despite his progress, there remains no clear timetable for his return to game action, and he is expected to miss some time at the start of the regular season. While he is out, Donovan Mitchell is expected to shift to point guard with Sam Merrill moving into the lineup. Craig Porter Jr. and Lonzo Ball will also have to carry more of the offensive workload in the second unit.

Max Strus Still Months Away From Playing
Max Strus (foot) was expected to miss multiple months after requiring surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his left foot, and he is still months away from returning, according to updates he provided at Cavs' media day. He sustained the injury during a late-August offseason workout in Chicago. At the time of the operation, Strus was expected to resume basketball-related activities in about three to four months, and after that, he will need an extended ramp-up window before he receives clearance for a season debut. Ultimately, he could miss about half the regular season before he's ready to return. While he's out, De'Andre Hunter will likely start for Cleveland, while Sam Merrill and Dean Wade may also see additional usage and time on the court. Strus isn't someone to reach for in season-long drafts except for in the deepest of formats.
