The Pirates will hold Cruz out of this contest after he exited on Saturday due to a hip flexor issue. Zack Gelof to Triple-A Las Vegas. Urias suffered this injury on July 2 but was able to make a quick return to the starting nine. James Wood will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale on the road in Milwaukee versus Brewers right-hander
Freddy Peralta.
Alex Call draws into the starting lineup in left field and will hit second against Peralta. The Nats will give Wood a day off heading into next week's All-Star break after he started in 174 straight games since joining the big-league roster. It makes sense, as the 22-year-old left-handed slugger will take part in the Home Run Derby and the All-Star game this coming week. The former second-rounder is one of the best young hitters in the game, but he's also gone hitless in his last three games and is batting .244 (10-for-41) with two home runs, five RBI, seven runs and a steal in 11 games in the month of July. Call has only faced Peralta once in his career and has only two homers in 175 at-bats in 2025.

He went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI in Saturday's victory over Washington. The Atlanta Braves have recalled right-handed pitcher
Davis Daniel from Triple-A Gwinnett, according to the team. Daniel is scheduled to start on Sunday for the Braves against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 28-year-old has pitched just one inning in the majors for Atlanta in 2025, but he's logged 76 2/3 innings (14 starts) at Triple-A.
