Nick Madrigal Suffers Dislocated Shoulder
Nick Madrigal (shoulder) sustained a dislocated shoulder during Sunday's spring training contest. Madrigal received the starting nod at shortstop in this contest but was pulled from the game in the opening frame after charging a ground ball. The team is waiting on the MRI results to determine the severity of the injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status during camp, but the 27-year-old could be in danger of missing the start of the campaign. Earlier in the offseason, the Mets signed Madrigal to a one-year contract worth $1.35 million. When healthy, fantasy managers should expect Madrigal to serve as a depth infielder. While sidelined, prospect Luisangel Acuna could see increased opportunities at second base and shortstop.
