The NFL said on Thursday that the salary cap floor has been increased from $175 million to $180 million following talks with the NFL Players Association, according to sources informed of the situation. As the league stated in their memo, this isn't the final salary cap for the 2021 season, it just increases the minimum salary cap by $5 million per team. The expectation is that the salary cap will fall significantly from 2020's $198.2 million budget because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be a big change after years of the salary cap increasing by tens of millions of dollars each season, but the new floor mitigates some of that decrease. Until the official salary cap is set, teams won't know exactly how much room they'll have to maneuver through free agency.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
