Mookie Betts Expected To Play Second Base Frequently In 2024
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes said outfielder Mookie Betts playing second base against right-handers is expected to be a frequent occurrence again next season. It's just another thing that will give the Dodgers flexibility. The ultra-athletic Betts made a seamless transition to the keystone in 2023 in 62 starts there and will continue to have both second base and outfield eligibility in 2024, making him even more attractive as a high-end fantasy asset moving forward. The 31-year-old former MVP and seven-time All-Star was tremendous at the plate as well for the Dodgers last season, hitting .307/.408/.579 with a .987 OPS, a career-high 39 home runs, 40 doubles, a triple, 107 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 126 runs scored in 152 games in his fourth year in LA.
