Michael Taylor Resting Against Royals
1 year agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Michael Taylor is being given the day off on Wednesday against the visiting Kansas City Royals. Taylor will take a seat on the bench after starting the team's last four games. Willi Castro will patrol center field on Wednesday and will bat seventh against Royals right-hander Alec Marsh. Taylor does have 10 home runs and 11 stolen bases on the year with added playing time in center field due to Byron Buxton's knee injury, but the 32-year-old veteran has gone 6-for-47 (.128) with no homers, four doubles, four RBI and 17 strikeouts in his last 17 games dating back to June 14. The cold stretch has dropped Taylor's season slash line to .214/.260/.400 in 78 games played.
